The pugs have succeeded in making Kerry and the convention a none event
With the power the repugs have over the press, I am afraid we don't stand a chance...

1. I'm not sure what news you are following
but that is just plain untrue. Did you watch the convention on C-SPAN? It was incredible. Over 24 million people watched.

You have to read past the headlines. MSNBC titles this article "A Baby Bounce", but look at the actual content. Here's a sample:

Kerry and Edwards have gained ground on several key election issues. For the first time in the NEWSWEEK poll, as many voters strongly back Kerry as strongly back Bush (31 percent to 30 percent). In an election expected to be decided by a small number of unaffiliated voters, independents now lean toward Kerry by a margin of 45 percent to 39 percent, with Nader pulling 7 percent. And voters are becoming more likely to predict a Kerry victory in November: Forty-four percent say Kerry will win vs. 43 percent who predict Bush.

Who cares what the repugs say. They are known liars.

12. This says, 13.5 million
http://www.nytimes.com/2004/07/28/politics/campaign/28media.html?adxnnl=1&adxnnlx=1091420577-LPIZw4OtTnGS3yLGLLvr/Q
However, the repug convention in 2000 was only watched by 16 million. That was down from previous years. I am sure a lot of people like my husband who had made up their mind to vote Kerry, just didn't want to bother. I never have before. This was my first.

14. For the 3 major networks and for the first night
The 13.5 million was for ABC, CBS, and NBC

4.7 million watch of the cable news networks (up 2 million from 2000)

PBS had 2.5 million viewers (an increase from 1.9 million in 2000)

Can't find numbers for C-Span (since they aren't a commercial network I don't know how their numbers are recorded.

Try reading a little closer

2. Bull, I have talked to a few strangers and all (dem and rep) liked Kerry's
speech. They only succed if you let them.

Get out talk to people, tell them not to watch the news about politics.

People are waking up, F 9/11, the Daily Show, and the internet are helping.

Do not let the media whores turn their spin into a self fulfilling prophecy! The truth is on our side.

3. Wrong answer!
When the sitting Vice President has to have people sign a pledge of support before they are allowed to enter an area where he is speaking, they are in trouble and they know it

Stop wringing your hands and write a LTTE of you local paper and wow them with good info.

Posting a bunch of demoralizing (or attempts at it) stuff is not good for you and the rest of us don't need it either,.

Today, Raven did some canvassing. She got down about the apathy of a lot of people, but she feels she made a couple of converts too.

So, what exactly is the point of all the energy expended on this 'woe is us, we're doomed' crappola?

Do something positive every day. If you wanna give up, go whimper quietly and let the rest of us get about saving the nation.

Peace, strength, and a better frame of mind to you,
hm

11. Good on you, DaveSZ!
The more people we get involved i the process, the better. And if those two people talk to some more people and they each inspire two more to registar.... then those four people talk to.... "Pretty soon you got a room full of rabbits', but you are probably too young to know that song ;)

8. Don't give up hope.
The underground network is alive and thriving. The power of personal interaction may be forgotten, but it can be more powerful than the commercal media. People who you know and interact with every day might value your opinion and viewpoint more than some talking head on the idiot box. Use that influence to help them realize that the cost vs results of this administration haven't been too productive. Don't throw alot of fact and figures in their face. Somewhere deep inside, they know that we've strayed from the foundation of our country.
If you keep the faith, wecan take back this country one mind at a time.
