CNN's Bill Schneider bio on Disinfopedia is wiped clean
Does anyone understand how this Disinfopedia site works? This afternoon I linked this page with the info pasted below. I just checked the link to use in another CNN outrage thread but it's blank.

William Schneider, Jr. is Chairman of the Defense Science Board<1> and one of the signers of the January 26, 1998, Project for the New American Century letter sent to President William Jefferson Clinton.<2>

Schneider is also a U.S. Senate appointee as Commissioner and Co-Chair for Aerospace Global Issues. "He is also President of International Planning Services, Inc. (an international trade and finance advisory firm) and an Adjunct Fellow of the Hudson Institute. He was formerly Under Secretary of State for Security Assistance, Science and Technology (1982-1986). He joined the Administration as the Associate Director for National Security and International Affairs at the Office of Management and Budget prior to being nominated as Under Secretary by the President.

"In addition, Dr. Schneider served as Chairman of the President's General Advisory Committee on Arms Control and Disarmament (1987-1993); as a Member of the Japan-U.S. Friendship Commission (operated under the auspices of USIA); as a Member of the Commission to Assess the Ballistic Missile Threat to the United States; and presently serves as a consultant to the Department of State, Department of Defense, and the Department of Energy.
snip>

"In recent years, Schneider has been the senior political analyst for CNN. While giving a speech to the Senate in February of 2000, as part of the "Rumsfeld Commission" referring to N. Korea, Iran and Iraq, he said, 'However, they would be able to inflict major destruction on the US within about five years of a decision to acquire such a capability (10 years in the case of Iraq)'.
-------------------------

As you can see, this kind of bio is very damaging to any pretense of neutrality that you might think you could expect from CNN's "senior political analysis. He's swaddled in Bushie admin goo. Now, this is all that shows at the very same link:

Sorry, but I'm going to go ahead and paste all the "recent changes" that appear when that option is clicked because it looks like all the previous info (and there was lots more than just what I'd snipped) vanished. Can just anyone wipe out a page like that? Is that how that site works?

7. I thought so too, but when I mentioned that today...
several posters disagreed, so I Googled and found the Disinfopedia page. I just can't figure out how or why it can be changed the way it has. It looked like a good source, but now I'm leery.

14. Disinfopedia is wrong
Grasswire posted this link with photo

http://rightweb.irc-online.org/ind/schneiderjr/schneiderjr.php

So all the govt positions were held by a different Schneider but the AEI cred for CNN's Schneider (with pic) is correct. Disinfopedia has them blended as one.

15. The only thing missing from your link was the final period
if you compare devrc243's link that does get the info, and yours.

If you click on 'Edit this page' from devrc243's link, you can change the information yourself. 'They' on disinfopedia (or any wikipedia) are really 'us'. That's the beauty of it.

16. Oooookay
That's what I needed to know about the site. Thank you.

With the other links provided here, it's clear there are two Schneiders. One, the PNAC Bill who doesn't read the news. And the CNN Bill who is associated with AEI.

2. That's really interesting. I had no idea that Schneider was a PNAC'er.
Seems to me that puts his credibility as an objective observer to question.

6. According to the bio page I posted, yes
Further down it noted his media work, and his job at CNN in particular.

CNN's bio page says he started in '91. They also list as a recommendation a quote from the WA Times, of all things.

8. Here's the CNN bio
William Schneider, recognized as one of the country's leading political commentators, is CNN's senior political analyst. He joined CNN in 1991 and is regularly featured on CNN's Inside Politics and during CNN's coverage of elections. He is also a resident fellow at the American Enterprise Institute in Washington, D.C., and a contributing editor to the Los Angeles Times, National Journal and The Atlantic Monthly.

The Washington Times referred to Schneider as "the nation's election-meister" and The Boston Globe called him "the Aristotle of American politics," while Campaigns and Elections magazine called him "the most consistently intelligent analyst on television." In 1997, Washingtonian magazine named Schneider one of the 50 most influential Washington journalists...more...

http://www.cnn.com/CNN/anchors_reporters/schneider.william.html

It doesn't mention any govt work or PNAC.

I guess it's hard to tell them apart when they have the same name and serve the same cause.
