2. How dare you?
Question our great leader will you? That is tantamount to treason. Mr. Ashrcoft's fascist bully boys have been dispatched. Citizen, stay where you are.

5. Oh, c'mon , mopaul, they just had a bad day...
Edited on Mon Aug-02-04 08:52 AM by BeFree
We all know 19 desert cavedwellers outsmarted not only US Customs and Immigration, but the FBI, CIA, FAA, NORAD, CIA, the Pentagon, and the Whitehouse, overpowered 8 ex-military pilots in midair, then took over the controls, and flying with pin-point accuracy, directed three planes into buildings. See, they got real lucky that day.

All the while, various and sundry Generals, Chief's of Staffs, Pentagon heads, and even the president, had a bad day, therefore not quite being able to respond to alerts or circumstances in anyway that woulda-coulda-shoulda lessened the destruction and loss of life. Except for Cheney, he was in charge at the Whitehouse, and he might have, maybe did order that 93 be shot down - will we ever know?

In short, they had a bad day, that's all. Nothing unusual.

One thing that was unusual: Air defense forces, who, we have been told all our lives, stand ready at a moments notice to protect America's skies from wayward aircraft, weren't ready. That was unusual, don't ya think?

Overall, it was just one of those days where nothing went right for America, but the cavemen were really lucky.

Who didn't expect that our 400 billion dollar a year defense and intelligence agencies would so miserably fail one day?

Give 'em a break. They just had a bad day!

13. 67 times.
In the year prior to 9/11 fighter jets managed to intercept errant planes (w/i 10 minutes) 67 times.

A bad day, indeed.

14. Wow. 67 times...
Then they had a day where they missed four in one hour.

Imagine, if you will, the confusion: "Where do we go? Do we fly east or west? Up, or down? There were four planes gone astray it was just too much. We acted just like our CiC did, 'We didn't do something, we just sat there'. Don't blame us! We didn't do anything!"

Gosh, ya almost gotta feel sorry for the bastards.

9. maybe it's too early
but i would've expected more people to jump on this thread and complain. that is the most telling change from the last two years or so. no one really doubts that the official story is BS.
after the convention, and with people saying that the media has begun to "shift" (i don't know i only use the 'net) i guess we're all just resigned to the probability that bushco only has one answer to problems:

violence.

10. I have almost no doubt left.
Caligula is a one-trick pony, he will trot out the teh-rah and ride the fear back into the WH. And NPR will say, "well, neither candidate had any control over teh-rah alerts." I don't understand how all the good nazis can hail Caligula as the conqueror of teh-rah, then quake with fear over an orange alert and vote for the little emperor 'cause he's "strong against teh-rah". I - just - don't - get - it!

15. when I see Bush recently he looks like something's really bugging him,
behind his faked-sincere con-man facial expressions. He looks like he knows something very uncomforting, like he's the man who knows too much.Maybe it's just his poll #'s,but for him to look like he knows something is making me very suspicious.
