The elephant in the room
Watched the cable channels this morning regarding the "terra 'lert".

Forget the suspicious timing on this.

Forget the questionable wisdom of spilling ALL the beans on what we actually know/don't know.

The real elephant in the room is that this info apparently came from an AQ type captured in PAKISTAN. It's possible that he had been in Afghanistan but was actually captured in Pakistan a couple of weeks ago.

Why is that important?

Because he wasn't captured in IRAQ!

Iraq had (prior to the invasion) Nothing to do with the war on Terror. It was and always has been centered in Afghanistan and moved into Pakistan after we botched the Tora Bora operation.

The real terrorists are still in Afghanistan and Pakistan. That's where we should be seeking them and that's where our efforts SHOULD HAVE BEEN!.

The point may be too subtle for our fine media watchdogs (sarcasm, sarcasm, sarcasm) but the point shouldn't be missed by Kerry and Edwards. This is proof positive that Bush has been barking up the wrong tree and failing to seriously (or intelligently) pursue an effective war against the people WHO ACTUALLY PLANNED AND EXECUTED 9/11.

rant over..............

2. I agree that this is important and overlooked by the media...
...and the "loyal opposition," but that's the same as it ever was. I no longer have any faith that the political leadership of EITHER party really wants things substantially different than they are now. Iraq is such a freaking GOLDMINE for the right people....

3. There IS no war on terror. It's bogus, just like the war on drugs
and the war on communism.

We are still being threatened by al Qaeda and the terrorists in Afghanistan and the Pakistan border 3 years later. After all the lives and fortunes spent in Iraq...
