Is the latest terror alert predicated on old news or new news ??
Now we read that the information is from a computer operator in Pakistan that was arrested a week or two ago? But the information is more than 3 years old - pre-9/11...??? Is there new information stating an imminent attack or is it "imminent" because it was just "discovered"?? Does anyone else have a problem understanding this? Is there a "plan" in place at this moment or is this old info being used by the Administration for whatever purposes?

It seems that it is information that the Adminsitration just recently stumbled upon but does it justify the present terror warning alert?
Although the information is 'specific', as best as I can relate, the information is old information but "new" to the Administration. As usual, they are about 3 or 4 years behind the terrorists...

NEW YORK (AFP) - The capture of an Al-Qaeda computer engineer in Pakistan in mid-July led to the most recent terror alert in the United States, the New York Times reported, quoting senior US officials.

Pakistani officials arrested Muhammad Naeem Noor Khan, a 25-year-old computer engineer, on July 13, according to the Times. The suspect is believed to have used and managed an Al-Qaeda communications system where information was transferred via coded messages, according to the Times.

A senior US official told the Times that "documentary evidence" found after Khan's capture showed in detail that Al-Qaeda members had been studying the buildings they want to target in New York, Newark and Washington even before the September 11, 2001 terror attacks.

4. maybe it's the "guard story" they ran a few weeks ago. There
were a few rent-a cops with cameras who took pictures of NY landmarks...they rotate assignments and then go back to thier country.

Taking pictures of Statue of Liberty does not seem "crazy"...unless you skin is another color...from another country....under bushler.

2. I think it's predicated on planted news
I think bin Laden is playing Bush like a violin. this is a phony exercise, but Bush is so desperate he ups the terror alert status and makes big announcements. As with every other alert, it will play out as nothing at all.

We are being terrorized with nothing more than the floating of information. There are no REAL attack plans, just bogus information being planted so the CIA picks it up and Bush pisses his pants.
