Little Sister Made Me Proud Today!

I've only gotten politically active in the past year or so, and am now getting my sister (3 yrs. younger) into it as well. She's a proud Dem like me, but the guy she's dating is quite conservative. Yesterday, they went out to lunch with a female friend of his, also a conservative. The friend starts bashing Michael Moore, F9/11, etc. and Sis' boyfriend joins in. Sis got so angry, she jumped right in and argued with both of them (she's normally very quiet)! Eventually, they all "agreed to disagree."

I'm just so happy that she stood up for her point of view, I thought I'd share it with you all.

1. Only the democrats are conservatives and....

liberals like Jesus. Our debt is in the trillions, that is not being conservative. Those are the actions of a drunk. We need to take the word conservative from the repigs...they are a bunch of liers. If we ran a debt in our private families, we would be out in the streets or in jail.

We also need to shame them for the game they play with religion. America is a liberal country as Jesus calls us to be...give us your poor, your tired...those yearning for freedom....

Your sister is courageous to speak up against her boyfriend and his friend. Tell her to keep it up!

I've noticed that a lot of Conservatives are not shy when it comes to bashing Democrats or Liberals. Most Democrats I know don't dare to speak up because they don't want to anger their Republican "friends"

I guess some of us have to learn to defend ourselves and our views and tell those right-wing fundies to "shove it"

I used to be very quiet and shy, and would hardly ever voice my opinion. That all changed after the 2000 election debacle. Since then, some of my friends are just "shocked" when I stand up for my beliefs. I tell them that I am certainly not going to keep quiet about things that bother me, *especially* when it concerns the future of my country.
