1. But, do you know where the terrorists are?
It may sound Rumsfeldian, but I'll bet they're to the north, south, east, and west somewhat...

7. Are you asking if maybe there could be a threat
out there and can we detect it? Well, sure. But detecting the threat is not the same as a threat of detection with the prevention of a certain determination. If that answers your question?

13. Washington DC
Is a terror-ific location for any terrorists looking to settle down and raise a family, with a fantastic federally funded education system -see our CIA and Pentagon Elementary School Programs- and hundreds of exciting historical terrorist targets. There's fun and games galore for the whole family! (Why not try the recently renovated Pentagon Wall, conveniently situated near our state-of-the art international airport.) And with one of the highest illegal gun, drug, and homicide rates in the world, what's keeping you in your cave? Come on and enjoy the chance to leave YOUR mark (Pentalawn not included) For a limited time ez access work and tourist visas will be available for close friends. Hurry, only two months until the next election! Get in on the ground floor (of the pentagon) Be the next Horatio Atta. Make your and George Bush's dreams come true!

16. Just because we don't know where they are
doesn't mean we don't know where they are. Absence of evidence is not evidence of absence.

6. My mother (who is a brainless, republican fundie)
was scared because with one or another of the alerts she thought that her lttle town would be a target. I said, "Mother, the terrorists are not going to bomb a tiny, little village in the red clay hills of North Alabama!" She said, "But we have the trade school!" Yeah, I am not kidding.

14. this totally makes me thing of the fact that
I have lived in NYC for the last 4 years, yet the highest level of paranoia I ever witness is in the conversations of midwesterners on the Amtrak I take to Chicago for the holidays. Also, the paranoia tends to follow not any kind of logic, but rather some sort of mimetic metonymy, like, they are afraid our Amtrak train will be hijacked and crashed...into what? Big Boy? Children of the Corn? Welcome to Ohio sign? And yet there are always rumblings along the lines "all I know is this better NOT be the train they wanna mess with."

3. No kidding - has anyone actually started a poll...
We all pledge $5 and the winner makes a DU donation with the pot.

And if that's too macabre, perhaps a poll on how many fake terror warnings before the election?

11. LOL
I forgot to predict it will be a Public Building.....At least that's my guess?

Disclaimer for the Nazi Justice Department.... This is a er joke that is meant to highlight the absurdity of Terra alerts. Only in Bushevik America do I have to have a disclaimer like this..

12. Could you alter that just a little, since it's a guess?
You see I'm flying through Dulles on Aug. 10th.
Or you could just exclude the airlines and predict it will be a subway or something, and why not go ahead an exclude Ft. Lauderdale and Manchester,NH in your prediction, if you don't mind :silly:

15. I just went back and tortured the source of my info
and he assured me it wasn't an airline. He indicated that you may want to stay off of Unicycles.

17. Whew, thanks, but bikes are OK right?
Edited on Mon Aug-02-04 10:33 AM by floridaguy
Thought I'd do a little bike touring on the New Hamshire or Mass coast. Thankfully, I could never get a hang of riding a unicycle. Now that wouldn't apply to pogo sticks, would it? Cause I'm a pogo stick riding MF! Haven't been on one lately, but if my nephew breaks one out, I want to make sure we're cleared for take-off.

Hmmm . . . I wonder about Segways. I guess shrub doesn't need to worry about that one :silly:
