Sibel Edmonds Busts Gag Order, Names names, HERE:
Sibel Edmonds Bust Gag Order, Names names, etc., HERE:

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Her new letter to the 911 Ommission:
"After almost three years the American people still do not know that thousands of lives can be jeopardized under the unspoken policy of ‘ protecting certain foreign business relations.’ The victims family members still do not realize that information and answers they have sought relentlessly for over two years has been blocked due to the unspoken decisions made and disguised under ‘ safeguarding certain diplomatic relations.’ Your report did not even attempt to address these unspoken practices, although, unlike me, you were not placed under any gag. Your hearings did not include questions regarding these unspoken and unwritten policies and practices. Despite your full awareness and understanding of certain criminal conduct that connects to certain terrorist related activities, committed by certain U.S. officials and high-level government employees, you have not proposed criminal investigations into this conduct, although under the laws of this country you are required to do so."

89. This *is* her going public... it's just that the mainstream media
doesn't pick it up. So it doesn't enter the public mind, so in effect it doesn't exsist.

Of course it is rather 'strange' that the big media don't pick it up. For our peace of mind we could think it's just a matter of incompetence, as we do with politics.

19. What is going on here? Is this really from Sibel Edmonds, and if she
decided to go public, why would she use this outlet? I want to believe this is true, but the skeptic in me wants to know why she would leak it to a fringe "conspiracy" web site that runs off a news site in New Zealand. I can't find any reference to this as a news story on Google or Yahoo news.

26. I'm sure you're right, since she said she would release this letter.
What had me wondering was that it showed up on a New Zealand site I was unaware of, and with little fanfare or mention that it's an exclusive. It was just put out there on an obscure corner of the web.

I know the mainstream media hasn't given her much coverage, but she has gotten some. She was on the front page of the NYT recently. It's odd to me that if she wanted this to be an open letter, she released it publicly in a way that would not get as much media coverage as she could have gotten.

60. NZ "Scoop" is a VERY important newspaper
They have had the courage to cover important stories which NYT and WaPo are ignoring - such as the hanky-panky with our voting machines.

You should check out Scoop - they're a very important newspaper. These days, US corporate media are afraid to publish things that might annoy the powers that be. For that reason, offshore English-language papers such as Scoop (New Zealand) or The Guardian (London) are coming to play a very important role in keeping Americans informed about what's really going on in our country.

45. this is the one new thing I read in the article
Edmonds states:

"Over three years ago, more than four months prior to the September 11 terrorist attacks, in April 2001, a long-term FBI informant/asset who had been providing the bureau with information since 1990, provided two FBI agents and a translator with specific information regarding a terrorist attack being planned by Osama Bin Laden. This asset/informant was previously a high-level intelligence officer in Iran in charge of intelligence from Afghanistan. Through his contacts in Afghanistan he received information that: 1) Osama Bin Laden was planning a major terrorist attack in the United States targeting 4-5 major cities, 2) the attack was going to involve airplanes, 3) some of the individuals in charge of carrying out this attack were already in place in the United States, 4) the attack was going to be carried out soon, in a few months. The agents who received this information reported it to their superior, Special Agent in Charge of Counterterrorism, Thomas Frields, at the FBI Washington Field Office, by filing “302” forms, and the translator translated and documented this information. No action was taken by the Special Agent in Charge, and after 9/11 the agents and the translators were told to ‘keep quiet’ regarding this issue. The translator who was present during the session with the FBI informant, Mr. Behrooz Sarshar, reported this incident to Director Mueller in writing, and later to the Department of Justice Inspector General. The press reported this incident, and in fact the report in the Chicago Tribune on July 21, 2004 stated that FBI officials had confirmed that this information was received in April 2001, and further, the Chicago Tribune quoted an aide to Director Mueller that he (Mueller) was surprised that the Commission never raised this particular issue with him during the hearing ( Please refer to Chicago Tribune article, dated July 21, 2004). Mr. Sarshar reported this issue to your investigators on February 12, 2004, and provided them with specific dates, location, witness names, and the contact information for that particular Iranian asset and the two special agents who received the information ( Please refer to the tape-recorded testimony provided to your investigators during a 2.5 hours testimony by Mr. Sarshar on February 12, 2004). I provided your investigators with a detailed and specific account of this issue, the names of other witnesses, and documents I had seen. ( Please refer to tape-recorded 3.5 hours testimony by Sibel Edmonds, provided to your investigators on February 11, 2004). Mr. Sarshar also provided the Department of Justice Inspector General with specific information regarding this issue ( Please refer to DOJ-IG report Re: Sibel Edmonds and FBI Translation, provided to you prior to the completion of your report)."

"After almost three years since September 11, many officials still refuse to admit to having specific information regarding the terrorists’ plans to attack the United States. The Phoenix Memo, received months prior to the 9/11 attacks, specifically warned FBI HQ of pilot training and their possible link to terrorist activities against the United States. Four months prior to the terrorist attacks the Iranian asset provided the FBI with specific information regarding the ‘ use of airplanes’, ‘major US cities as targets’, and ‘Osama Bin Laden issuing the order.’ Coleen Rowley likewise reported that specific information had been provided to FBI HQ. All this information went to the same place: FBI Headquarters in Washington, DC, and the FBI Washington Field Office, in Washington DC..."

All the other information in this letter has been available online via interviews she's done with 60 Minutes, Gail Sheehy in the New York Observer, via an article on Salon, via a transcript of a program on Democracy Now, and probably others I don't know.

Anyway, you can google Sibel Edmonds and any of the other sources listed above and read all this information from these American sources.

The amazing thing is that the cable media has so little real concern for the welfare of the people of this nation that they are complicit in John Ashcroft's (and others) cover up of this infomation by supressing this scandal.

If only Sibel raped by a celebrity...THEN it would matter to the scum who are failing to do their duty.

Cable news is as worthless as Pravda was, back in the day of their totalitarian rule.

This website is in fact the very same website that broke the Black Box Voting story for Bev Harris. It also happens to have a close association with UnansweredQuestions.Org which was set up in June 2002 and therefore a long and illustrious association with the 911 truth movement. So why shouldn't the news appear on Scoop first...

Afterall that is what our name is all about.

This latest terror threat is obviously based on translated documents. SO who translated them? The Pakistanis? The FBI? Who?

41. Beautifully done
Sibel is walking a fine, dangerous line here, and I am amazed at her courage and committment.

It is my understanding that she is gagged with respect to this information. But she must feel that the information is so important as to risk the wrath of the Justice Department. And she is doing it alone. The Commissioners and Congressmen who know her story and who have some political clout/defense didn't come forth with information. The information wasn't leaked confidentially.

Sibel signed her name to the letter, crawling out of the foxhole and into the line of fire. No one with power is providing cover that I can see. People from both sides of the aisle and at all levels of government should be helping her, coming forward with their opinions of how this should go down, backing up her story, or trying to determine exactly why she is gagged.

Regarding the letter, she seems to have found a way to include sensitive information insde her main point -- to critique the 9/11 Commission. Hopefully, she's provided enough gray area to avoid prosecution.

If the media is still capable of actually reporting and following up on a real story, ramifications of this letter COULD be far reaching:

9/11 Commission looks bad here. The report will be seen by more people to lack credibility. More people will be awakened to the political nature of the report.

If Commissioners include her information, a more effective set of recommendations to stengthen intelligence may result

Another hole in the dike. The number of BA disasters and questions increases every day.

Others will be inspired by Sibel's courage and will come forward with corroborative information and maybe new information. I hope Tenet is paying attention.

Those resposible for FUBAR'd translation program will go down in flames. A better program may result.

There appears to be very interesting evidence about who was involved in 9/11. This is not the point of the letter, but promises to be the main point of future testimony.

John Ashcroft has another serious problem here.

CBS may finally air its interview from weeks ago with Sibel.

This is important information that has been lurking around for a while. Seems like Sible has decided to take a leap of faith that the Constitution, congressmen who find some intestinal fortitude, and maybe even the press will take a stand with her before the election, so that we may have the information we need to protect our country and so that we can make an informed choice in November. I don't see much upside for her except for that.

She clearly will need some help.

Thank you Sibel.

42. Is this the sh*t that is going to be in the "second" report AFTER Nov. 2nd
Remember, when the Commission released the 9/11 Report, they said they were working on a second report that would be more detailed on who needed to take blame for a lot of the wrongs that were done, but it would probably NOT be complete before the election?

I bet this is part of that info!

All over again.
In an interview on Democracy Now with Sibel and Daniel Ellsberg this year Daniel called her my hero.
Sibel laid out what she expected to happen and was waiting for the 9/11 commission report. In hindsight, and watching the program again, it looks like she is doing what Daniel said was the only way left.

The segment is about 22 minutes from April 2004.

If the info she's seen comes out.

She also gave a press conference during a break in the 911 hearings (i think during Condi's testimony) and out of dozens of media reps surrounding her, only one picked up the story (Tom Flocco has soem info on this).

58. Wow - read this paragraph:
Translation units are the frontline in gathering, translating, and disseminating intelligence. A warning in advance of the next terrorist attack may, and probably will, come in the form of a message or document in foreign language that will have to be translated. That message may be given to the translation unit headed and supervised by someone like Mike Feghali, who slows down, even stops, translations for the purpose of receiving budget increases for his department, who has participated in certain criminal activities and security breaches, and who has been engaged in covering up failures and criminal conducts within the department, so it may never be translated in time if ever. That message may go to Kevin Taskesen, or another unqualified translator; so it may never be translated correctly and be acted upon. That message may go to a sympathizer within the language department; so it may never be translated fully, if at all. That message may come to the attention of an agent of a foreign organization who works as a translator in the FBI translation department, who may choose to block it; so it may never get translated. If then an attack occurs, which could have been prevented by acting on information in that message, who will tell family members of the new terrorist attack victims that nothing more could have been done? There will be no excuse that we did not know, because we do know.

61. Has ANYONE gotten fired for 9/11?
Has ANYONE been held accountable? Apparently Sibel Edmonds named names as to who was/is making mistakes at the FBI - and the 9/11 Commission decided to whitewash the whole thing.

We have so many reports of incompetence and/or treason on the part of government officials - and yet I have not heard of ONE SINGLE PERSON who lost their job or was publicly reprimanded or criminally investigated for all the screwups that happened.

And the screwups are still ongoing. That's why I DON'T feel safe anymore in this country. The people who are supposed to be "minding the store" are doing anything but.

Legal Eagles Eye Ashcroft Over 9/11 Whistleblower
(snip)

The POGO lawsuit is not filed on behalf of Edmonds, but to defend POGO's own right to conduct oversight reviews of the DOJ. The suit asks the court to require the agency to declassify the Edmonds material.
(snip)
POGO's suit contends that the information is not reasonably recoverable because it was posted publicly on the Web and is still available on numerous Web sites.

Edmonds has placed detailed, specific information before three Congressional inquiries --including the 9/11 Commission. Public discussion of those specifics would likely seriously undermine the commission's imminent final report.

The true focus of the commission is now clear, following recent comments by commissioner John Lehman, the former secretary of the Navy on NBC's "Meet the Press." He predicted the panel will support centralization of the nation's intelligence agencies as the only way to prevent future terrorist attacks.

"You're going to see unanimous recommendations on the intelligence community...," said Lehman. "Centralization will enable information to get to people "in a position to make a difference," he said.

Under cover of their shallow investigation of 9/11, with the stick of their criticism as a lever, the commission is empowering a singular, Orwellian security apparatus, which is but another step in the increasing integration of the G8 countries' intelligence services.

91. Major media is selling out a brave woman that is an unselfish American
Edited on Tue Aug-03-04 10:31 AM by Zorra
heroine. Sibel Edmonds could have dropped this issue long ago for her own gain. She is putting her life at risk. The media is selling out Sibel Edmonds, and the People of the US at the same time.

Why?

Ms. Edmonds makes this statement 5 times in her letter:

"How can a new bureaucratic layer, "Intelligence Czar", in its cocoon removed from the action lines, override these unwritten policies and unspoken practices incompatible with our national security?"

The 9-11 Commission report is a whitewash, and has, among others, these two primary goals:

1) To absolve national and intelligence leaders who are guilty of deliberate and criminal inattention to critical intelligence information that in all probability would have saved the lives of 3,000 Americans if this information was not deliberately ignored.

2) To establish a powerful centralized police/intelligence agency with broad powers and the imminent potential for domestic repression.

The 9/11 Commission deliberately did not include critically important relevant information in its investigation and its findings. It deliberately avoided asking FBI Director Mueller questions whose answers would have been an indictment of the competency and integrity of his actions as FBI Director, and may have cast suspicion on the true intentions of certain elected officials.

Why? And why are major media sources remaining completely silent about this important public letter written by Sibel Edmonds?

The agents who received this information reported it to their superior, Special Agent in Charge of Counterterrorism, Thomas Frields, at the FBI Washington Field Office, by filing "302" forms, and the translator translated and documented this information. No action was taken by the Special Agent in Charge, and after 9/11 the agents and the translators were told to 'keep quiet' regarding this issue. The translator who was present during the session with the FBI informant, Mr. Behrooz Sarshar, reported this incident to Director Mueller in writing, and later to the Department of Justice Inspector General. The press reported this incident, and in fact the report in the Chicago Tribune on July 21, 2004 stated that FBI officials had confirmed that this information was received in April 2001, and further, the Chicago Tribune quoted an aide to Director Mueller that he (Mueller) was surprised that the Commission never raised this particular issue with him during the hearing (Please refer to Chicago Tribune article, dated July 21, 2004). Mr. Sarshar reported this issue to your investigators on February 12, 2004, and provided them with specific dates, location, witness names, and the contact information for that particular Iranian asset and the two special agents who received the information (Please refer to the tape-recorded testimony provided to your investigators during a 2.5 hours testimony by Mr. Sarshar on February 12, 2004). I provided your investigators with a detailed and specific account of this issue, the names of other witnesses, and documents I had seen. (Please refer to tape-recorded 3.5 hours testimony by Sibel Edmonds, provided to your investigators on February 11, 2004). Mr. Sarshar also provided the Department of Justice Inspector General with specific information regarding this issue (Please refer to DOJ-IG report Re: Sibel Edmonds and FBI Translation, provided to you prior to the completion of your report)."

So why did the commission not directly address critical issues with Mueller?:

During the two years since the Bush administration gained office, the old guard at the Federal Bureau of Investigation has been sytematically and extensively cleared out. The pretexts have been the inadequate performance of the "old regime" and the new "anti-terrorism". But the real reason is certainly to produce a Bureau more amenable to the imperial and police-state aims of the oil cabal (of which the administration is a front); and amenable too to the underhand methods used to achieve these aims.

The first target was the FBI's Director himself, Louis Freeh. President Clinton had appointed Freeh in 1993 to a ten-year term as Director. By 2001 Freeh was already facing accusations of incompetence over Waco, the Oklahoma bombing and the Olympic bombing. The final straw for Freeh was the arrest of FBI agent Robert Hanssen (18 Feb. 2001), on charges of spying for the Russians since 1985. Freeh "retired early" in May.

Freeh's "retirement" was followed by that of John O'Neill, head of counter-terrorism at the FBI. O'Neill had had differences with the new Bush administration over the handling of al-Qaeda cases, and in August he "resigned in protest over the administration's obstruction of the ongoing al-Qaeda investigations". He took the job of head of security at the World Trade Center in New York, a poisoned chalice as it quickly turned out. O'Neill was presumed to have died in the Sept. 11 attacks.
('Trade Center security chief thought dead', CNN.com, 12 Sept. 2001; www.ringnebula.com/Oil/Timeline.htm )

In July 2001 President Bush appointed Robert Mueller, a conservative Republican, as Director. (Mueller had been Attorney-General Ashcroft's assistant from Jan. - May 2001.) Mueller took up his post (after congressional approval) on 4 Sept. 2001.
('Bush names new FBI chief', BBC news, 5 July 2001; 'Profile: FBI chief Robert Mueller', BBC news, 28 Sept. 2001.)

http://www.911review.org/Wget/www.geocities.com/liberty...

Bu$h and our PNAC led government is selling us out and the major media is helping them.

All honest members of Congress must assess the recommendations of the 9/11 Commission carefully and deliberately, and with Sibel Edmonds allegations in mind. Congress must not act in haste in approving any legislation that will restrict or abolish civil liberties, and must root out the corrupt individuals in our Intelligence Agencies, particularly those that have been planted there by the Bu$h administration.

Congress passed the Patriot Act in haste, and many members of Congress allegedly did not read the Patriot Act before they voted to approve it. If Congress does not act responsibly and in the genuine best interests of the American people when considering and voting on legislation spawned by the 9/11 Commissions' recommendations, we may end up with legislation that irrevocably limits our civil liberties and sanctions an agency with the potential for the imminent domestic repression and control of US citizens.

I just talked to 60 Minutes about this, and they don't TALK to people about stories

they take mail/email

60Minutes@cbsnews.com

Snail Mail
60 Minutes
524 West 57th St.
New York, New York 10019

Telephone
(212) 975-3247

I told the 60 minutes person that there were a LOT of very angry people out there about their pulling the second Edmonds story

operator switched me over to news tip desk, where I kinda argued about Edmonds. he didn't know about her till we talked a bit

I told him about the letter, and he wasn't buying the scoop website as being bona fide. finally talked him into checking it out, as it's the only place I could find

told him that Dan Rather is the only anchor with balls enough to go with a story like this, AND CBS would be getting a leg up by going with it. emphasized how the NYT is the only outlet covering her story now, and that NOBODY NOBODY is covering her letter

he was less than friendly, but he took the time to let me spell her name, and give him the google site to pull up the letter

why don't some of YOU make a few calls

Rep. Carolyn Maloney, Dem/NY is giving them a hard time right now on CSPAN

anybody have her as a rep?

she might be good to call:

800-839-5276

ask for whichever congressperson/senator you want

it's FREE!!!

102. kick it for Sibel
:hi:

Ashcroft could be charged with obstruction for "classifying"
her testimony.

Here's hoping it comes out and he goes to jail.

121. Opednews.com and the Asia Times are carrying it also.
No major US or European media have carried it as far as I know.
