CNN/Bill Snyder
Bill Snyder is now saying the no bounce is the price the democrats are paying for not attacking Bush at the convention.

Can you believe, they almost got hysterical if the gloves started to come off or someone said something they thought was a personal attack.

Remeber when Rev Al Sharpton was on and Matthews got so excited he cut away from him & they were all agast at someone saying something negative.

Give me a break.

1. Schneider is an AEI/PNAC stooge
Edited on Mon Aug-02-04 05:59 PM by jpgray
Do not trust the guy, and most of all, TURN OFF CNN! And as you mention, they spouted how they were so bored at the scripted quality of the convention, and then lambasted Sharpton and didn't even air his entire remarks when he went off the script. They are whores, plain and simple.

NOTE: Apparently the Disinfopedia bio I'd read for the PNAC info is incorrect, and is mixing one Bill Schneider with another. He is AEI, however.

But both are still despicable.

he is NOT the same Schneider at PNAC, though

this has been discussed to distraction here

all one has to do is go to their site

he's got completely different credentials than Schneider of CNN

(Now the link leads to an empty bio)

William Schneider, Jr. is Chairman of the Defense Science Board<1> and one of the signers of the January 26, 1998, Project for the New American Century letter sent to President William Jefferson Clinton.<2>

Schneider is also a U.S. Senate appointee as Commissioner and Co-Chair for Aerospace Global Issues. "He is also President of International Planning Services, Inc. (an international trade and finance advisory firm) and an Adjunct Fellow of the Hudson Institute. He was formerly Under Secretary of State for Security Assistance, Science and Technology (1982-1986). He joined the Administration as the Associate Director for National Security and International Affairs at the Office of Management and Budget prior to being nominated as Under Secretary by the President.

"In addition, Dr. Schneider served as Chairman of the President's General Advisory Committee on Arms Control and Disarmament (1987-1993); as a Member of the Japan-U.S. Friendship Commission (operated under the auspices of USIA); as a Member of the Commission to Assess the Ballistic Missile Threat to the United States; and presently serves as a consultant to the Department of State, Department of Defense, and the Department of Energy.

"In recent years, Schneider has been the senior political analyst for CNN. While giving a speech to the Senate in February of 2000, as part of the "Rumsfeld Commission" referring to N. Korea, Iran and Iraq, he said, 'However, they would be able to inflict major destruction on the US within about five years of a decision to acquire such a capability (10 years in the case of Iraq)'.

11. If they say it is the same guy they did.
Because it's not the same guy.

10 seconds on google would uncover that fact.

21. Then where did this come from? 'He's NOT the AEI/PNAC guy! You're wrong.'
It wasn't clear you were now referring exclusively to the PNAC claim. On a previous thread where Bill's bio was discussed, I provided the AEI entry and a DUer linked to Disinfopedia to provide the PNAC one. I should have researched the latter more thoroughly. But you were half right in your post above, and efforts to point this out to you should be acknowledged so we know what you are arguing later in the thread. I thought you were still on about him not being AEI as well as PNAC.

24. If you couch the allegation as CNN's guy being "AEI/PNAC"
and being just one guy, then that's wrong.

If you couch the allegation as CNN's guy being "AEI" and the other guy being "PNAC" then that's correct.

18. The original statement was made that he was PNAC/AEI
and not that there were 2 separate guys.

Which was my point.

The CNN guy is not PNAC and is a separate person from the PNAC guy.

Both of them suck.

20. But you made no distinction between AEI/PNAC
in your original "You're wrong" comment. The Bill Schneider from CNN is the same Bill Schneider at AEI. That's my point.

23. I didn't originally post the comment that was couched as "AEI/PNAC"
Edited on Mon Aug-02-04 06:18 PM by Lex
My "you're wrong" comment was directed specifically at the post that alleged Bill Snyder from CNN was just one guy who is AEI/PNAC.

25. Right. But you made no distiction between AEI and PNAC
when you delcared "You're wrong." Your "you're wrong" was half wrong. Rather than continue with this, do you agree that the Bill Schneider from CNN is also the one from AEI?

3. Not worth paying attention to. If the Dems vociferously bashed shrubco,
you know what the response would be: vilification by the media including CNN. Now it is the reverse. "You're losing 'cause you didn't bash him!" Can you say "lose/lose?" BTW I thought it was masterful the way the message was gotten out without specifically naming shrubco, with the exception of Sharpton.

10. That's crap
First of all, every other poll shows Kerry with at least a small lead, so that poll is an outlier. And the purpose of the convention was to introduce Kerry to people who wanted to know more about him. A number of polls show he gained on Bush in many areas, and those may be more important than the horse race numbers at this point.

15. Can you say control?
I think its more of a matter that the GOP has controlled and manipulated discussion to the point that the middle of the road is now considered wild eyed radical left. This in turn, allows them to control/limit the damage that democrats are able to inflict.

19. Bill Schneider Worships Bush For Invading Iraq.
Schneider's cheer-leading for the Iraqi war during the nation's lurch into the shithole that has the euphemism of "quagmire" permanently exposed his adoration for George W. Bush.

He knows the public knows and he doesn't even give a shit anymore.

The only difference between Frank Luntz of General Electric News (NBC) and Bill Schneider of Conglomerate Network News (AOL/Time/Warner/Turner/CNN)is their sexual orientation.
