Democratic Political Rally & Picnic
August 14, 2004
4:00 – 7:00
Lee Vause County Park

You are cordially invited to attend the club’s Democratic Political Rally and Picnic. Local Democratic Officeholders and Candidates will be in attendance. They will have signup sheets and campaign materials. We’ll have political speeches, music by the group Brand New Key, food, and fun. Bring a homemade covered dish or a $5 donation. The club is furnishing grilled chicken, hamburgers, hotdogs, iced tea, lemonade and water.

As you know Sen. Kerry has a slight edge nationally over Bush and our old-fashioned political rally and picnic might be the key to energize North Florida Democrats enough to push Florida into Kerry’s win column. Traditionally around 66 percent of Leon County’s electorate vote Democratic.

Although it’s still early, the Kerry-Edwards Campaign has assured us that they’ll have a representative, whom we’ll all know, to give the keynote address.

Directions:

The park is located in Northwest Tallahassee off US 27 North.
Take US 27 North toward Havana and proceed to the intersection where Capital Circle NW and Old Bainbridge Intersect at US 27.
On the Northwest corner is the Oak Valley Shopping Center where Publix is the anchor store. The address is 5819 North Monroe.
At the intersection turn right on to Old Bainbridge Road (East) and go about ½ mile to Lee Vause Park. Turn right (South) on to Marjorie Turnbull Lane and follow the directions to the Large Pavilion.
