Just look at the signs in this crowd. It's amazing. And I'm sure MSRNC did NOT plan things that way! :D

1. My son graduated from Miami, Ohio
And is taking some classes toward his graduate degree. A LARGE number of those gradutes are back working the jobs they had in high school, they are all pissed, all registered to vote, all planning on voting, be it at the polls or absentee, and it ain't friendly toward the pResident.

These kids are ANGRY. Really, you should hear them talk.

18. Suppose I should qualify that many are still at Miami
and many are in what I call the "greater Cincinnati area". Young twentysomething kids whose college degree means shit because they are competing with high school kids for jobs. My son lives in Hyde Park, his many (many many) friends are all within 50-60 miles or so, all pissed, all voting, all either graduates or just about to be.

Course they all talk smack about the idiot "young republicans", fondly referred to by them as "young nazi's". And they are smart too, not just talking about the stupidity of the man, but educated and informed on ALL the issues.

21. My Daughter Is In College, Too...And We've Been Hard At Work
Recently we organized a group of her friends to go and register for the election...so many didn't know you had to do this, and a little "peer pressure" didn't hurt either.

We're seeing a lot of kids here from upper and middle income homes who are angry at this regime for one reason or another, be it the war (I have yet to meet an 18-24 one-on-one who will say a good word about this invasion) and the strong possibility of the draft (all you have to do is explain the concept of the backdoor draft and college could be your ticket into the military since they may go looking for "special needs" types...that always gets the eyebrows raised), cuts in education (tuition and living expenses are killing these kids), the patriot act (whatcha mean they can see what book I've read or where I've surfed on the net...), corporate greed (let's hope their generation doesn't sell out like some in ours), gay rights (overwhelming against the GMA) and abortion (it's MY body)...there's lots of issues this regime falls on the wrong side of things.

Get a group of kids together...provide non-alcoholic refreshments and sit back and listen to them talk...only speak when spoken too (kinda refreshing)...or if the dialogue turns too far off topic or gets a little heated. Passion is a great thing and you'll hear lots of it.

We're planning to get one or two more groups together to register in the next couple weeks, and also encourage those going off to school to get their absentee ballots now.

There's a goldmine of young voters out there who have heard a lot of negative things about voting and politics, but once engage them let them express their opinions the ice gets broken very quickly and common ground is met. It's a fascinating process to watch.

23. I Know
I know people like that, too. They get a high earned (and high priced!) BA or BS degree. After graduation, they're working at the cell phone and video store. It's realyl bad.

Even they don't believe the crap they are saying. They are just repeating their assigned talking points.
