In praise of Jon Stewart.
Edited on Mon Aug-02-04 10:34 PM by annxburns
Jaysus, I LOVE THAT MAN. If he was not already procreating I would volunteer, because his genetic material must be passed on.

Totally destroyed the terra warning. Made fun of a Freeper anti-gay shill running for congress in Fort Lauderdale. Completely flummoxed a member of Bush's rapid response team with facts. Made total fun of Bush's "Were turning the corner"

ROTFLMAO. I love love love the Daily Show.

1. Yes! Just watching it
and he was smoking. Just wait until tomorrow when he finds out the whole terror alert was based on "important new information" that was in fact older than 9-11. bush gives him sooooo much good material-I'm sure they could do an hour show. Stewart is just so funny in how he presents it with the facial expressions and all!!!

3. someone just told me that...
the Daily Show is now the top rated newscast. I haven't actually seen any data to that effect, but if its true than something in this country is right.

5. I heard Laura Ingraham say for 25% of 18-2 year olds Daily Show is their
primary source of news.

4. Rep Bonilla On
Jon lets him spew the Kerry is the most liberal and Edwards is the fourth most liberal line (Bonilla is saving the candidates should say if they are liberal or conservative - either is "fine" but they should just say...). Jon asks him who says 1st and fourth. Bonilla says rated, by lots of people, this is the rating, digging a hole but trying to say the average of all the ratings - Kerry is most liberal - more liberal than Kennedy.

Jon says, well National Review said that, Bonilla says, but that is a newspaper! (what an idiot). Jon says yes, and was the rating lifetime or what - Bonilla says, lifetime. Jon says no, actually lifetime Edwards is more to the right and Kerry is to the right of Kennedy -- and when you put out your "rapid response" why don't you tell the whole story.

Bonilla is an idiot.

6. It's actually the National Journal
And according to Somerby, they seem to be non-partisan. HOWEVER, as this rating was based on a handful of votes and only measured one year, it is hardly representative of each candidate's career. As any FOOL could see, yet it took a 'fool' to point out. The 'professional' pundits were apparently hapless and at its mercy, however.

Journal itself as saying that lifetime voting records are what counts, and not the one year of 2003.

7. I like the Daily Show for giving it to Dems and Repugs alike
It was merciless during the convention, and hilarious, too. That's why Air America can't compare--great satire proceeds from the idea that politicians are assholes, regardless of party stripe.

Mind, you'd better screw Stewart soon. If Kerry wins, the show will be roasting him every night for the next four years.

9. I'll happily watch Stewart roast Kerry
I've enjoyed his 'must... eat... brains...' impression of Kerry's speaking style already. :D

in the White House. I'm ready to laugh at a Democratic Senate too.
