9/11 commission missed the point, They treated this event like a wake up
call.

It was NOT a Wake Up Call. The wake up call was in January of 01 right after Bush took office. The Hart/Rudman thing was presented to him.... Then cam the Aug Meeting where he was warned once more...

For 8 Months Bush and Cheney did shit about Terrorism. Nada. They missed the wake up call.... They fucked it up. They were told by Clarke, Hart, the French, the Italians, the Tuvians, etc that shit was coming and he let it all go so he could drive his ball down the fairway.

He is not a proactive guy...thats fer sure. Now we pay the price.

Worse....he starts a war...doesn't finish....starts another one...and cannot end it....he is flummoxed.

2. The '93 WTC attack, the '98 embassy bombings, and the 2000 Cole bombings
Should have been the wakeup call for the government. But the alphabet soup agencies were too obsessed with pissing contests with each other than the task and duty of protecting the country.

3. I don't believe for one second that it's the fault of the ...
"alphabet soup" agencies. Plenty of agents had info, but for some reason, they were prevented from following through on their investigations. Colleen Rowley, Sibel Edmonds, Robert Wright, John P. O'Neill and Michael Scheuer (the "anonymous" CIA agent who's book just came out). We know their stories, but how many other stories like theirs exist in the agencies? These are the same agencies that had no problem protecting us on Clinton's watch.

4. No problem protecting us?
All those happened on Clinton's watch (and no, I don't blame him). It is just the nature of the intel business to be territorial and it costs American lives.

10. I'm talking about protecting us domestically ...

and the '93 bombings came a month after Clinton took office ... and who was the President before that? Bush! What is it with this family that inspires agents to become idiots? :eyes:

Several terrorist plots were foiled during the Clinton years, including the Millennium bomb plot, the plot to blow up the Lincoln and Holland Tunnels in NY and Project Bojinka.

No intelligence is perfect, but the fact is ... two of the worst intelligence failures in US history have come under GW Bush's watch. (9/11 and Iraq/WMDs) George Tenet was CIA Director while Clinton was in office. I find it hard to believe he suddenly became incompetent when Bush moved in.

JMHO

5. No one to Blame but Bush. It was on his watch and he had warnings and
recommendations to reduce the threat. Instead he wasted a study that took 2 1/2 years to complete and threw it away.

That is moranic
