Holy smokes! "Bin Laden determined to strike in the U.S.!"
Everybody duck! Lock your doors! Hide away the women folk! Terror Alert Orange Plus Plus!! Look out!

I have a National Intelligence Estimate that says that Osama bin Laden is determined to strike somewhere in the United States. Terrorism! It could happen anywhere! Anytime! Run! Run, I say!

What? What about the NIE? Yeah, I've got a copy right here. The date? What does that have to do with anything? Okay, if you insist.

August 6, 2001.

1. Don't you know that 9/11 changed everything?
Even the framework of time and space itself. Sure it's not August 6, 2001 right now, but who knows what tomorrow will bring?

3. Look at the bright side - At least they ***finally*** read the Aug 6 PDB
although at this point it sounds like it really is "historical" information.

4. We all had better head for a 2nd-grade classroom in Sarasota, FL
That's the safest place to be in case of a terrorist attack.

I hear that they have many copies of the book, "The Pet Goat."

8. Hey, you people act like . . .
You people are acting like this administration would play politics with terror alerts and intelligence releases. As if they would release classified information just to embarrass their political enemies* or classify previously public information in order to silence a whistleblower.**

You America-hating Bush bashers probably want to see another terrorist attack, just so you can rag on the president some more. Well, you just keep your eyes peeled, buddy-buddy. Watch what the president says, because he's always talking about stopping terrorism.

*Valerie Plame doesn't count.

**Sibel Edmonds doesn't count, either.

11. Clinton did more to fight terrorism than your guy.
It was, in fact, a "chemical factory", although it may have been bombed mistakenly.

Your guy ignored months of intelligence bulletins, vacationed for a month & sat in a Florida classroom with his mouth hanging open while our country was attacked. Then he started two unnecessary wars. Thousands have died.

Now he's using old intelligence information for political gain. Clue: it won't work.

Did you see Clinton speak at the Democratic Convention? Did you hear how well he was received? Then turn to any of bushie's recent appearances & see how far our country has fallen.

16. That would be the Al-shifa chemical factory.
It's a text-book example of bad sampling in analytical chemistry.

The plant in question produced anti-malarial and vetirinary drugs. The CIA had an operative in the plant, it had been suspected that the owner had connections with al Qaida. The operative took soil from just outside the plant and CIA chemists determined it had phosphorous-containing chemicals used in the production of chemical weapons, and NOT the drugs said to be produced by the factory. The CIA told Clinton that the plant was producing chemical weapons. So Clinton, based on up to date, accurate information from the CIA bombed the factory (mind you in the middle of the night, with minimal casualities.) As opposed to Bush, who continues to slaughter thousands of women and children, knowing the whole time that the information about chemical weapons was false.

It turned out that the factory was producing the drugs it claimed. The phosphorous-containing compounds discovered by the CIA were likley from liberal amounts of pesticides applied to the roses in the soil sample, taken somewhat carelessy by the CIA operative. So it turns out that the CIA screwed up in this case. Not Clinton. But leave it to freepers not to get their facts straight.

12. Ha ha!
Yeah, I remember the tens of thousands of folks who died and the hundreds of billions of dollars wasted on one bombing run. Hoo boy, aren't we soooo much safer, now that we've killed thousands of innocent Iraqis who never meant us any harm? Or are you still obsessing about something that happened over six years ago?

Because if you are, then Homeland Security might have an opening for you, AmericanPride!
