Does anyone know why Air America hasn't come to Boston yet?
It seems a little rediculous that there's no sign of it coming to one of the most liberal/democratic markets in the country with only 2 huge commercial right-wing talk radio stations, which combined have an hour a day of left-leaning programming a day.

1. I'm betting air time is too expensive in that market right now
New York is a necessary market area. Boston will probably be coming really soon, as soon as they have enough money to enter the market.

The Boston part to the tour gets cancelled and their manager tells them, Hey, don't worry, Boston's not a college town.

"Dozens of people spontaneously combust each year. It's just not really widely reported."

David St Hubbins

Haven't seen Spinal Tap in a while. Have to check it out again and see the stereo that goes to "11"

I don't know. We NEED it.
Freaking right-wing conglomerates own all the stations here and spread the Republican propaganda. Even on rock stations. WAAF is owned by the same company that owns the sports radio station so instead of playing music or talking sports, both stations are just spreading Republican propaganda. It sickens me.

Jay Severin would shit a brick if AA ever came here. Oh, that would be a beautiful day.

What's the one-hour of left-leaning programming? I'm missing it!

6. Actually WBCN has been pretty liberal. I'm guessing Infinity doesn't have
a slant imposed on their stations, because they didn't care about Oedipus (their longtime liberal PD) hiring liberal jocks such as Nik Carter and others. Although they rarely do get political, they did talk about going to the anti-war rallies and stuff. ANd they were the first station to run announcements against the FCC crackdown on Howard Stern, setting up a "freedom of speech" line for people to leave messsages, which they would play on the air.

I have friends that interned there and he said it was a very liberal atmosphere.

15. Infinity doesn't care about propaganda
As long as it gets ratings and makes money, they'll support it.

5. and I'm waiting for Hartford, CT
We're a pretty blue area, with a few exceptions, and I'd love to be able to listen in the house - I can get WLIB out of NYC in my car on the highway, but not when I get off the highways...

We do have a fairly liberal radio show that runs in drivetime (Colin McEnroe on WTIC AM 1080), but most of the market is pretty RepubliCON.

20. Gotta second Hartford
If anyone from AAR is listening, I know you guys just got a station just north of the border in Northampton, MA (1400 AM), but Hartford has a sports station at 1410 AM that just kills 1400 AM's signal. WLIB is pretty tough to get, too.

C'mon AAR. We're in Nielsen market #27 and Arbitron #46, not exactly small potatoes. Plus, I think this would be a pretty receptive area. The new gov is a republican, but I believe most, if not all, of the other statewide positions are held by Dems.* Plus, best of all, we just got rid of John Rowland!!!

Colin McEnroe can be pretty good, but Mr. McEnroe's periodic moments of wit are very limited due to WTIC's excessive number of commercials (For some reason, AAR's commercials on the net stream don't seem to bother me as much, maybe due to the higher amount of content). He'd probably be good for a guest stint on AAR. (Mr. McEnroe also has an annoying habit (nails-on-the-blackboard for me) of giving away endings of TV shows/movies without warning. But I digress.)

*Just so that no one else has to point it out, I know, I know, we spawned "Joe-mentum" here, but our other choice here in Lieberman's last election was a guy even the republican party didn't even wholeheartedly support and that guy turned out to be a child molester.

16. I'm sorry, would "Jewish Totalitarian" be more Politically Correct?
Edited on Tue Aug-03-04 12:30 PM by tom_paine
Does the fact that the Grandson of Hitler's Angel rules Amerika now bother you?

Does the fact that they seem to are using the Goebbels playbook, updated for 70 years of psychomaniuplatory progress in advertsing, PR and marketing bother you?

Does it matter that these statements

"Everyone says the Jews love Germany, but they don't."

"Jews have always sided with Germany's enemies both foreign and domestic."

"Jews aren't Real Germans."

could have come out of the mouths of any number of Nazi or Bushevik propagandists (of course, you'd have to chnage Jews to Liberals and Germany to America)?

You see, these similarities and MANY others lead me to speak as I do, and if more Jews had spoken out in Germany 1933 about what they saw maybe things would have been different.

But oh yes, the grandchildren of Hitler's Angel, using similar demonization speech, BIG LIE and propaganda techniques have NOTHING at all to do with the Nazis who pioneered them.

:silly:  :silly:

Yup. Just a coincidence. Nothing to see here, you Jewish Traitor, I mean Liberal Traitor!

:silly:  :silly:

To support Der Fuhrer is to support Der Fuhrer, now or in 1933.

Say, would Jewish "Kinder and Gentler but not EXACTLY like the Original Nazis" be Politically Correct enough for you?
