Mark Luther is hopeless. HOPELESS!!!

I just listened to a bit of Al Franken's Dittohead segment with his friend Mark Luther. He played a segment of Limbaugh's show where Rush claimed that Kerry doesn't take the war on terrorism seriously and that he didn't mention it "even once" in his "stupid speech last Thursday. Franken, of course, plays clips of the speech where Kerry does in fact mention the war on terrorism and how America will and should go about fighting it. Mark Luther was still unimpressed. He admitted that Rush "got it wrong" but says that he still agrees with Rush philosophically. The guy is utterly hopeless.

...while Franken was chewing him out. For some stupid reason I thought that maybe Franken was finally getting through to him, I mean, how could he deny what he heard with his own ears? What was I thinking?

I know Franken says Luther is his friend, but I honestly don't know how any liberal could be friends with a dittohead. A Republican, sure- but not a dittohead. That's like a German Jew hanging out with a Brownshit in Hitler's Germany.

You don't have to listen to Rush just because he talks about your philosphy in life. He's a propagandist and a liar.

8. My take on it is this...

there are some people who I label "Blind Loyalist" to their party. Mark is one of them. In my opinion, it is hopeless to try and sway them. They turn on the little kid defense.

Little kid is backed into a corner with chocolate all over his face yet declares he never touched the chocolate bar.

I think Al is wasting his time. Hope and change lies in those that can reason, honestly. Some people just can not do this, unfortunately. I wish he would replace the segment with something a little more productive.

...in showing that it is possible to get through to one of these zombies. If Luther changed his tune it would be interesting to see what the one thing is that would finally sway him--if that one thing actually exists, which it probably doesn't.

Al might be using him as a tool in understanding the mind think behind right-wing slant and support. If so, I think we got the picture by now. I think Al should either replace him with another ditto-head or move on.

Mark is a lost case in trying to change him.

Or it's a long-term gag and Luthor will suddenly see the light a week before the election, slam Rush and endore Kerry.
