Who is the Dem "attack dog" this cycle?
...who counters the Cheney/GOP mudslinging?

...when Dean called them out on the phony alerts the media crapped all over him and his credibility.

Someone needs to step up!

1. Dean remains the attack dog
Because Dean has been proven true once teh story was dug into further.

Dean's credibility is getting even bigger over this story.

2. Dean just got a huge boost by being proven right
What a gift to us. Who could have predicted that the evidence would turn out to be three years old?!

I say keep Dean on the front line. He's batting 100.

16. Batting 1000!! Not 100.
100 would be a lousy batting average -- only 1 hit in 10 at bats. Howard's doing waaaaaaay better!

(Sorry to be picky!) :-)

10. Exactly!
From his public speaking gaffes to his foreign policy blunders and the loss of jobs, Bush is his own suicidal attack dog. Of course, you can't forget Cheney and Rumsfeld -- they, too, deserve some credit for the discrediting of the adminstration.

7. Howard rocks
Who knows where we'd be right now if he hadn't given the Dems a kick in the pants. Great to see him out there fighting the good fight still.

It would be nice if he had some consistent back-up, though. Have we heard from Wes Clark lately? How about Nancy Pelosi, now that she's had her spine re-installed?

(And, oh yeah... any time they want to turn Bill Clinton loose on the bastards is fine with me!)

6. Keep It Up, Howard
Sure he's taking hits...but was he wrong? Let's see how this one plays out.

There are plenty of surrogates ready to do the "nasty" here for Kerry/Edwards and the ability for the campaign to keep the leash on will get more difficult as the wingnut attacks and regime lies mount.

Want some attack dogs...try these:

Michael Moore: nuff said

Bill Mahrer: He's back on HBO and is making all the pundit and talk shows...he's loaded for bear, too

Jon Stewart: The cutting knife of truth...a voice of a new and un-polled voter.

James Carville: I know, Corp. Cueball isn't what he was in the Clinton days, but he cuts like a knife...I always thought he was Clinton's alter-ego...saying what Bill and all of us feel.

Wesley Clark: Remember, he's the one who backed up MM when he called Bunnypants a deserter and his voice to the military undecideds is still gonna be very, very big.

There's more...maybe worthy of it's own string...add on, if you so desire...I have many more I could add...

Cheers!

11. It' usually someone who can demand media attention like the VP candidate
but we've decided to go with Mr. Nice in the hopes that his shinny hair will dazzle the opposition.

12. ...yes...that is usually the VP role and Edwards certainly is going on a
different track. As far as Dean goes, I worry that he seems to have
such little credibility in the mainstream media (sadly, wrongly) that his comments won't have the desired impact.

13. Dean...but the fact that he's the only one is a joke. The RNC has
hundreds--and it hasn't cost them a point in the polls. WHAT THE FUCK are the Dems thinking?

18. Sharpton, Gore and Big Dog should be added to the list
Sharpton is hot with a microphone. He cuts 'em down and leaves 'em laughing about it.

Gore is tough and has credibility. He has really developed more passion in the past few years.

And Bill Clinton is Bill Clinton, reminding everyone how good it once was. He also has a way of connecting with people. He is one of the greatest politicians of all time.

So, you get the honey with Clinton, the vinegar with Gore, and the laughing gas with Sharpton.
