(I posted this before, but i now added new info)
The New Republic ran this July 19th article about the prediction of a July-Surprise:
http://www.tnr.com/doc.mhtml?i=20040719&s=aaj071904To sum it up: The Bush administration put pressure on Pakistan to deliver high-value targets (HVT). According to an ISI official (Pakistan's Inter-Services Intelligence), a White House aide told ISI's director, Lieutenant General Ehsan ul-Haq last spring that "it would be best if the arrest or killing of
HVT were announced on twenty-six, twenty-seven, or twenty-eight July"--the first three days of the Democratic National Convention in Boston. (AKA July-Surprise!)
Well, the July-Surprise was announced on the 29th of July. "Pakistan captures high-level al Qaeda operative" The same night Kerry was speaking at the DNC. How convenient!
CNN ran the story on their website on the 29th. I saw it! However, if you look at the date, you will see they changed it to the 30th!

Do a search on CNN's site (top of their page) and put in "Pakistan captures high-level al Qaeda" You will see The story was posted on Jul 29, 2004! Why was the date changed, or did the story run twice?
IMO the July-Surprise didn't make a dent in the DNC, so it was posted again the next day. It still didn't get much attention from the American public on Friday. Two days went by and people didn't notice, or didn't care.
So how do we get the Ameican public to notice? NEW TERROR ALERTS!
Tom Ridge would not say where the information originated, but specifically mentioned Pakistan as a key ally.

CNN on Sunday kept talking about the new terror alerts and the Pakistan capture. Even if they wern't connected, they became connected.
The BBC reports (August 3rd) that Pakistan's Information Minister Sheikh Rashid Ahmed denied that plans for fresh attacks on the US and UK were found on the suspects' computers.

Also the New York Times reports (August 3rd) Much of the information that led the authorities to raise the terror alert at several large financial institutions in the New York City and Washington areas was three or four years old, intelligence.

Still don't think this is political?
