Did CNN just turn into Fox News 2 over the last week, or what?
They were already a thoroughly corporate news outlet, but it seems like they've taken a sharp turn to the right since the Dem Convention. They're still playing up Ridge's bogus terror warning, and now they're teasing a spot about 'why do Cubans love Michael Moore?'.

They seem to have moved way past simply ignoring the news, and into the Fox News territory of outright lies and aggressive propaganda.

Anyone else notice a sharp change in CNN's coverage over the last week or two?

6. Ronald Reagan's death.
I noticed that they grew "timid" when Reagan died, then the Republican commentators and "guests" increased. Now, it's Dem-bashing that doesn't LOOK like Dem-bashing. They're very good at "between-the-lines" reporting. They must have gotten a memo from the White House. Before that time, they had become quite bold about reporting on Bush's failures (especially about WMD's). I guess they got a good talking-to.

3. They went from subtle to blatant
The pro-Bush bias has been there since the 2000 campaign, but in the last few weeks it has become pervasive and blatant.

5. Yes, it has been well-noted at DU
I happened to see Schneider on the other day and he is continually comparing the Dem convention to the McGovern one based on the Gallup poll. The implication is pretty clear, that Kerry is a loser and will lose in a landslide like McGovern.

And that is only one example, there has been a ton of other stuff posted here about anchors making a hard right in their commentary.

8. Yes, CNN is now almost indistinguishable from Faux
I long ago suspected it would end this way.

I long ago suspected America would end this way.

I just didn't think it would happen so SOON!

11. MSNBC is better if you must watch cable news
CNN is going far to the right and MSNBC is coming back to the left with their daily news atleast. They have been all over the "3-4 year old information deal" today.

15. MSNBC has gotten better
Even Scarboy has balanced out a bit.

They are the better of the Big 3 news channels. NewsWorld International is even better (no bias) and CNN International hasn't completely sold out yet.

I wish CBS had a news channel. They should blow up Spike TV and do it. Not like anyone but wrestling fans would really miss it.

12. Didn't they spam to the viewers that bio of George H W Bush?
They ran that bio of George HW Bush in wartime in the Pacific theatre several consecutive times on Saturdays and Sundays over several week-ends. And they used a photo of the young George HW Bush in a leather pilot's headgear that was the spitting image of the current resident ManChimp. I can understand one show about Poppy Bush, but why spam it to as many time slots as possible over several week-ends? Why not show several war heroes, like JFK and John Kerry's bios? Or even the celebrated bio of Iraq war critic David Hackworth?

Anyone who doesn't is not helping a bit. Call, baby, call!!!!

14. CNN is unwatchable before Lou Dobbs comes on
Ironic that the one guy who is a Republican is the fairest anchor on the whole network. Who else there talks about stuff like outsourcing and electronic voting?

While CNN as a whole has gone into the crapper, Lou has gotten better and better.

They will get worse as the election nears.
