12. Like Tea with Nixon

Giving Colbert a White House press pass is akin to the time Grace Slick was inadvertently invited to a White House tea with Dick Nixon (she was invited as an alumni of Trisha Nixon’s finishing school).

She brought along Abbie Hoffman as a date and a few tabs of acid with which she planned to spike President Nixon’s tea. Jesus, she was totally insane, which is why I love her! Fortunately--or unfortunately, depending upon your viewpoint--the secret service rejected her at the door (well, they rejected Hoffman, but Grace was too chicken to try to send Nixon on a trip by herself).

No kidding..this is a true story (well, if you choose to believe Slick and her pals). :D
