I heard it on Cspan this morning... Was it Iowa? Anyway, they said that they were going to be there almost at the same time and something like blocks away... interesting...

Only three blocks away. Hope the crowds didn't intermingle too much.

8. Not a chance.
Kerry's rally will be in the open air, rain or shine. Bush's rally will be indoors, ticketed and heavily guarded. There wlll be little chance of mixing crowds, and less chance of Kerry people gettin anywhere near Bush (one might ask him a question or something).

3. But the Kerry stop is not a 'rally',
so unfortunately we will not be able to compare the size of the crowds head-to-head.

6. Here is what I got from google
Davenport is getting ready for rare same-day campaign visits by President Bush and challenger John Kerry this Wednesday.

The Bush campaign says the president will be in Davenport's LeClaire Park for a 10:40 a.m. rally. The Kerry campaign says their candidate will also be in the city that morning, but that his appearance will not be a rally.

Details on the Kerry trip are expected today.

President Bush will be speaking at the bandshell in LeClaire Park while Senator John Kerry will be speaking at the Davenport River Center. Bush is to take part in a campaign rally at 10:40am and Kerry is also scheduled to stop by in the morning before heading to southeastern Iowa later in the day.

"I think it's fantastic," said Geraldine Bakeris of Davenport. "I watched the Democratic Convention so I could get a handle on what they were saying and I think it's great...this is what the U.S. is about."

No ticket information has been released just yet for those wanting to see John Kerry.

So the Kerry event is inside. I don't know how large the "Davenport River Center" is.

5. Bush is outside and they are predicting T-storms....
which might make it interesting, since he's supposed to appear right next to a river. Do you think he believes enough that God anointed him that he would dare to speak next to a river while lightning was bolting all around him? If he calls it off, that must mean he doesn't really believe in his divine mandate.
