4. I liked what the crowd did the other day.
When the brownshirts started chanting '4 more years' the crowd started chanting '3 more months'.

5. Depends
Unlike our opponents we do not put our opponents into a "free speech zone", or demand loyalty oaths from people who might want to see their Vice President speak, or demand to know the race of a reporter covering a presidential rally.

They have every right to show up and counter-demonstrate. But if I'm at a rally where they shout down speakers or substantially interfere with the functioning of the rally, I will intervene and do my part to put their bullying to a stop.

9. Situational.
I don't see why a little corporal punishment on people attempting to deny a candidate's freedom of speech rights is not acceptable. If busholini can use taxpayer money and hired goons to limit dissent, then I believe that empowers citizens to similar techniques to defend their guy.

6. At only the second Kerry/Edwards rally, Dayton, Ohio, in early July...
... the day after the ticket was announced, an intrepid group of about 50 Bush Brown Shirts showed up to harrass the crowd of 18,000 Kerry supporters.

They started their "FOUR MORE YEARS!" chants, and the crowd suprised me, by spontaneously bursting into our own chant: "FOUR MORE MONTHS! FOUR MORE MONTHS!"

50 Bushies, easily drowned out by 18,000 Kerry fans. :D :D :D

It was a beautiful thing.

11. Other
Get a group together, link arms around them, and politely but firmly escort them to the edge of the crowd. If they've done anything besides be loudmouthed jerks, deliver them to the cops with a description of the illegal activity and an insistence that this is a citizen's arrest.

Be a bigger pain in the ass than they are, but don't assault them or do anything else that is actionable.

14. Take a camera and a clipboard...
...snap and photo and ask for a name. Tell them you'll send them sign up sheets for the military, and add them to the list you are keeping of those who support George bin Laden and Omar Cheney.
