Real reason for terror alert this weekend

It seems plain to me that the REAL reason for the terror alert in NYC this weekend is to give national security cover for the fact that machine guns and tanks will be seen on the streets of New York to protect the Republicans against massive protests during the RNC.

Given the unprecedented security on Bush's last trip to Europe -- especially in Ireland and Turkey -- and the lengths All the President's Men went to to shield the Boy King from seeing protestors, this fake alert is just a way to explain away the presence of armed troops on the streets of New York.

But, that's just my opinion.

Their convention is almost 30 days away. That's too ling to keep this thing going.

I think it was done to scare the voters into believing there is imminent danger, and chrub is the only one who can protect you.

I think this will continue off and on until Nov. just to keep it in everyone's mind.

4. Oh, but I think this is only the beginning of terror alarms to be sounded

regarding New York and Washington. Especially since they are getting creamed over the info being so old. There will be more to come. More captures and more computers. More "Updates."

There's no doubt, IMO, that there will be a military presence on the streets of NY the first week of September. It can't look like this is just to "protect" the prez.

10. I agree and the Repugs will also say that Al Qaida is

soooooo afraid of Bush winning again because they are so afraid of him and that's why he should be re-selected so he can keep them on the run. These guys have got to have a screenwriter writing this stuff - on second thought, no screenwriter is this bad. I also think it's to keep a tight lid on New York during the RNC because it's looking like this may be one of the biggest protests of our times - shades of the '60's. I hope the people in New York ruin their little party, but don't want any of them to get hurt. Go, New York.

Also I believe that the fortification of only the financial areas of NY is because they really are going to try to cancel the election, and create another terrorist attack in NY. They want to make sure that during the riots that come after this the nation financial infrastructure is harmed as little as possible by this so that why only they are to be protected. Everyone else be damded.

That one of the financial institutions that was cased and photographed and mentioned in the daily briefing of August 6, 2001, was THE WORLD TRADE CENTER!
