DEMOCRATS NEW OCTOBER SURPRISE
Nader, laughingly says, "Just Kidding!"
Thursday, October 21, 2004 Posted 10:47 AM EDT
Washington (AP)--

Thousands stand around in this cold october morning to listen to Ralph Nader give a speech to his faithful, and others attracted by the crowd.

"It's been four years too many," Nader raged. "I will not live under this system any longer, and neither should you!" he proclaimed, continuing his speech to a large applause.

"But at this moment, I need to say something to all the Republican grass roots organizations that helped get me on the ballot: Got ya, suckas! I fully endorse John Kerry, and ask all those who support me to do the same." A stunned silence greeted Nader's suprise turnaround, which quickly faded into a raucus applause.

"John Kerry for president! We must put him there, and then we can begin the difficult work that still needs to be done in this country. Stand with me now, all who hope for greater things. We stand as one, united behind the Democrats, and behind their leader, John Kerry!"

A standing ovation followed Nader's final comments, and as he walked off the stage John Kerry greeted him with a handshake and a hug taking the microphone and exclaiming "An American Hero!"

1. This is what Michael Moore tried to get him to do in 2000
According to Stupid White Men this very notion is why Moore and Nader had their falling out in 2000. Moore's an idealist with a desire to see improvement moved toward in his life time. Nader is a perfectionist who can't countenance slogging his way up a long hill and so tries to build his own hill, in the end accomplishing nothing of his goals, but doing okay in terms of lining his pockets.

How sad. I know how I'm voting.
