What activist/civil rights group does the religious right hate the most?
I'm not talking about political parties, campaign groups, or single-issue groups. I'm talking about progressive, civil rights groups that fight against what the religious right and the social conservatives want to do. The two groups that spring to mind are the ACLU and People For the American Way, but I'm sure there are others. Who is the very best, or the one most hated by the radical right?

1. ACLU
I really believe is the one they hate the most. I just came across a post today on a discussion board having to do with TV shows but someone was griping about the ACLU! :eyes:

3. Those two may be the most openly despised
But they do occasionally end up on the same side as the wingnuts so I'm not so sure how deep the hatred goes.

But there are organizations for whom I doubt there has ever been any love for by wingers and that includes Americans United for the Separation of Church and State and other groups who would never advocate for anything they believed in.

 Hate is such a fickle companion.

****edited to add:

I don't necessarily think PP is a "single-issue" group -- the Theocons hate them not only for abortion, but also access to birth control and womens' sexual education. I suppose it falls under "womens' reproductive health."

6. ACLU
Definitely the ACLU.
Our 1st Amendment rights are the ones that scare them the most because it is the ones we use to expose them.
