Hardball transcript from last night with Dean.
Nothing to run from here. Kerry can distance, I will understand. Or if not distance, not agree. If other Democrats are differing with him, then I find it disturbing. There is nothing here to run from.

5. really, can you prove that?
While Dean is campaigning to send bush back to TX, I hardly think he is following orders from the Kerry camp.
I am ready to hear this same kind of Howard Dean truth from Kerry.

10. Dean can be Frank, Kerry will be Earnest
It is obvious that Dean is campaigning for Kerry. . .

Dean can say things that Kerry can't -- just as George Bush's surrogates can say things that Bush can't.

2. I think its a GREAT strategy
the politician and his cadre of truth-tellers. It makes me proud to be a Dem again.

6. I agree
It will take a huge effort to beat Bush and has band of ring wraiths. "Once kings of men, they are reduced to mere wraiths!"

(Hey, I've got 300 posts now!! Hooray!)

3. I thought he did quite well with Wolfe Blitzer Sunday too.
My husband said he was back-peddling on the "Bush terror = politics" concept, but I thought he handled it extremely well, saying he is glad the resident is working to protect America, "That is good." BUT he is running as the anti-terror "president" and at least some of these alerts and things are political.

I would have said that his reactions to the 9/11 Commission's recommendations are PROOF that his anti-terror is political.

4. I saw last night's Hardball show and Howard Dean and it was...
...great. Chris Mathews though was showing signs of impatience or frustration especially when his later three guests came on. He did not appear to be in control of the interviews and he was not throwing out hardballs in his usual style. I'm wondering if Chris Mathews health is okay.

7. I think CM has been threatened
by the administration - maybe his job is on the line or something. Chris was also one of the "journalists" approached by the treasonous leakers about Valerie Plame - he knows these people will destroy people who don't toe the line.

9. Kerry CANNOT have this blow up in his face
This terror alert could be BS, but it could also be legitimately worrisome. Kerry HAS to give the President the benefit of the doubt on matters such as this and see how it plays out. If additional evidence, arrests, or other events confirm that the elevation of the terror threat was justified, Kerry would have SERIOUS egg on his face. That would not be good.

Dean, on the other hand, can afford to question Bush's credibility. People expect it from Dean, and it keeps the questions out there without Kerry having to go out on a limb.

Dean knows what his role in this campaign is. I wish more people understood.
