Lees Summit used to be a sleepy little town, now it's an affluent upscale suburb. There is a developement there Lake of the Woods houses start at one million, it's their natural base.
A few years ago I drove an ice cream truck in Lees Summit, the company was based in the heart of Kansas City, it made me sick to drive from abject poverty to wealth beyond scale.
Son of a bitches didn't buy much ice cream either.

Would that be near Lake Latawana? I'm not exactly sure how it's spelled, but when I was a kid, we'd spend a LOT of our summers there. Had friends who had a house on the lake, and we'd stay with 'em, or sometimes house-sit.
