TIME:DHS'to provide Bush with 1 homeland-security photo-op a month' (3/15)
Well, August 2004 sure was taken care of thoroughly Monday in the Rose Garden. There stood Dubya, flanked by Colin Powell and other symbols of national strength. Since Tom Ridge the day before had conveniently omitted revealing the four-year AGE of the "new intel" on financial district terror, there were no unruly questions for the "president". Thus Dubya had no "deer in the headlights" moments, struggling to answer those unasked questions. He simply ignored Helen Thomas, just to make sure the photo-op went smoothly. He projected just the strength and command Karen Hughes's election PR plan called for him to display at regular intervals until election day.

From http://www.cnn.com/2004/ALLPOLITICS/03/15/campaign/

"CNN.com - Raising the Volume - Mar 15, 2004

By John F. Dickerson and Karen Tumulty

WASHINGTON ...

As the Bush team sorts out its internal mechanics, it will press the advantage of incumbency. Administration sources tell TIME that employees at the Department of Homeland Security have been asked to keep their eyes open for opportunities to pose the President in settings that might highlight the Administration's efforts to make the nation safer. The goal, they are being told, is to provide Bush with one homeland-security photo-op a month."

1. CNN's Bill Schneider said tonight that the "war on terror" became
fiar game for political debate this week. Finally, WH overreaching apparently has changed the rules of the National Security game Rove has been playing for almost three years.

2. Off topic...when does Bush deliver all those weekly addresses about
Iraq that we were promised back around late May????
We had one..........where are the rest of them?? Wouldn't a series of serious speeches about Iraq make us all feel safer??????????

3. I'd forgotten about those photo-ops. Were they supposed to end when
Paul Bremer came home, after the "handoff"? Who was it who said, it wasn't a handoff, it was a fumble?
