In my local paper today. I think I'm going to write a response. This guy can't see the forest for the trees.

Being a member of the oldest and largest civil rights organization in this country, the National Rifle Association, I want to make people aware that when it comes to crime, firearms and freedom, John Kerry and his anti-gun friends simply refuse to face the facts. They think that if they repeat a lie often enough, it will be accepted as truth.
Kerry has voted over 50 times in the past 20 years to restrict, regulate or ban your second amendment rights.
Today he is trying to fool the public into believing he is pro-gun in part because Bill Clinton stated that the N.R.A. cost Al Gore to lose the 2000 election and everybody knows Billy-Boy wouldn't tell a lie. I believe that if it wasn't for the N.R.A. you wouldn't own a firearm in this country today. All John Edwards is is another Ted Kennedy with a southern accent. All the liberal-lites would like nothing better than to see you defenseless and have firearms outlawed.
It has happened in other countries and when guns were banned the crime wave went through the roof. These two JOHNS are no friend of gun owners. Of all the efforts of President George W. Bush and his administration to support the Second Amendment, none has been more important than slamming the door on the United Nations plans to impose international gun controls on American soil. And that door has remained locked shut during his term in office. We don't need the United Nations permission for anything as we are a sovereign nation. The late great president and N.R.A. member Ronald Reagan said, "We Will Never Disarm Any American Who Seeks To Protect His Or Her Family From Fear And Harm" President George W. Bush is a staunch defender of our second amendment rights and so is Attorney General John Ashcroft.
I say to the sixty million gun owners in this country and to my fellow four million N.R.A.members, VOTE FREEDOM FIRST, VOTE BUSH-CHENEY 2004.
