Has the Fraternal Order of Police issued an endorsement yet?
Clinton won it in 1996, innoculating him against "soft on crime" charges, the first time they endorsed a Democrat since Woodrow Wilson. Bush got it in 2000. I know that Kerry won the endorsement of some other cop union, whose name escapes me at the moment, but they are not as big as the FOP. Kerry may be hurt by his opposition to the death penalty, but Bush has screwed cops a whole lot over the last 4 years.

1. They are still deciding...
But the International Brotherhood of Police Officers endoresed Kerry back in May (they supported Bush in 200). I was in DC that week and the had a large rally and loud endorsement as part of National Police Week. Close enough so I am SURE they heard it at 1600 Penn. Ave.!

2. Oh, I didn't know there were more than one organization
of Police Officers. I know about the one ..when it was announced at the convention. Wonder why the other police org is not in step with them?

3. I Cannot Immagine That Any
I cannot immagine that any union with its chief constituatancy being middle income hard working men that would not endorse Kerry. When you think about it a policeman is a job in many ways similar to the good factory job or a tradesman in the constructon business. Hard work and good pay but every bit of it the result of years of staunch union activity. These men are the natural base of the Democratic party.
