17. His remains may have to be dug up
and reburied in Illinois by Nov 2nd.

I really think the Illinois State GOP really blew by not even considering this strategy

money he can raise in the next few days, if it rolls in he'll run, if not it's back to the constitution party for him.

8. Don't forget this one
On ABC 7 in Chicago today:

Kevin Roy: When Pat Buchanan suggested on fox news channel in march of 2000 that he run for senate in New York, Keyes responded "I deeply resent the destruction of federalism represented by Hillary Clinton’s willingness go into a state she doesn't even live in and pretend to represent people there, so I certainly wouldn't imitate it." That is from Alan Keyes three years ago. Now, he is scheduled to meet with the republican central committee at 2:00 this afternoon. They are expected to announce the final decision sometime later today.

11. Keyes stands no chance whatsoever of beating Obama
all he is doing is saving the Illinois GOP froma third place finish in a national race.

He could still lose second place to Jerry Kohn, but Barthwell was a third place finish guaranteed.

10. It WILL be ...

This is lots of free publicity for this supreme glory whore. He can say WHATEVER he likes because he KNOWS he won't be elected.

BTW, I watched Futurama and was VERY amused by Richard Nixon's head running for President of Earth ;-)

ELECTION 2004 Illinois dream matchup: Keyes v. Obama State Republicans choose ambassador as candidate Copyright 2004 WorldNetDaily.com

Illinois Republicans chose Alan Keyes as their candidate today to run against heavily favored Barack Obama, the up-and-coming Democratic Party star.

Republicans were forced to choose a new candidate when their nominee, Jack Ryan, dropped his Senate campaign in late June over embarrassing allegations about his sex life.

Party leaders first tried unsuccessfully to persuade former Chicago Bears coach Mike Ditka to take the political plunge.

22. C'mon, this is funnier than ANY SNL skit ever has been!
My prediction, Keyes declines the nomination because he knows he has to spend his own money. The GOP is not pouring any cash into this race. Whoever accepts the nomination is on their own.

Keyes makes noise about principles, but the fact he is even considering this shows he has no principles whatsoever. He is all about money. He also still owes thousands of dollars from his last filed Senatorial race in Maryland.

No register, just post.
I put in the ABC reiteration of Keyes 2000 remarks about Hilary.
Let's see how long that lasts.

And be sure to check out the whacked comments posted by others who want him to run.
