How Much Should I Worry About November?
I just got this via E-Mail:

As Kerry is going to be the leader of over 350,000 men and women in the Armed Forces, their vote can say something.

Which makes me wonder: Back in 2000, why did Gore try to stop the absentee votes from Servicemen and women from being counted? I personally know five Veterans who remembered that and will vote for Bush because of it above and beyond anything else.

1. The picture is spin
The picture does not depict the crew of his swift boat.

Worry enough about November to vote Kerry, and work towards his election prior to that.

The GOP stuff is entirely spin at this point -- they have nothign to run on, and have to invent thigns to run against.

2. i sincerely recommend you go back and study the events of that time.
Gore absolutely NEVER stopped the counting of those votes. i remember it well, and what the Florida election commission did was count votes for * and THROW AWAY votes NOT for * - suddenly, gee, upholding laws abut the procedures of absentee voting.

investigate BEFORE you bring even more propaganda to we who have been TORMENTED all those years with the cold-hearted robbery of the presidency.

learn.

That was part of the right wing smear machine as is this nonsense about the photo. None of these men served with Kerry, those who did were on the stage with him in Boston. I'm pretty sure that you already knew this.

6. Make them say why!!!
Well, I don't know know how Kerry is going to play this. For all I know, he'll let it go in the hope that it looks so blatantly desperate that people will see right through it. (You got me, I'm no political expert.)

If this was real life, which I know it isn't, it's an election, I'd be all over that tv tomorrow asking the question WHY?

I watched the commercial and none of those men say anything about why they claim Kerry is unfit! They just say it! That's very fishy right off the bat.

I'm sure they have their answers ready. But I still say make them explain, so we can all see whether their reasons make any sense, or are great enough to conclude and to label a man as unfit.

My mother told me if you don't have something nice to say, don't say anything. It's one thing to NOT suppport Kerry. It is quite another to stand side-by-side and pronounce a man unfit. They better be able to say why.

Is it his breath they don't like, WHAT? What is it that John Kerry could have done to make 12 individuals reach the conclusion that he is somehow UNFIT?

This is a conclusion that each of them has individually reached, I SUPPOSE. Now the question to each of them is why?

Let's Act in the the Democratic Emergency
by Ronnie Dugger

We are in an American emergency. It is the emergency of all our American emergencies. Along with the Civil War, this is our second crisis of legitimacy, but more, it is the culminative crisis of our identity. Are we a democracy, or have we irreversibly degenerated into a Presidential-corporate-military dictatorship? Are we still a good country, or are we becoming a bad country? Can we understand and act in the emergency well and fast enough, or will we lose the United States as we know it?

But as we approach the national election three months away, we have slowly awakened to realize, too, that this quite general American emergency is focusing down into an historic democratic emergency.

go to the link for the rest. And yes, you should worry about November.
