Swift boat veterns against Kerry must not stand unanswered
They are now running ads in the swing states. This is a group led by nixon boy John O'Neil

Counter-ads must run quickly and tough.

If we do not stand up against these miserable people we will lose!

2. This is street fighting
Dukais and Gore did not respond to misinformation. All I am saying is we must counter the attacks, along with the message...

17. Dukakis lost BIG
and though Gore got more votes, it was closer then it had to be.

Clinton, on the other hand, responded to EVERY such attack. Had a team of debunkers for just such an occasion.

I seem to remember he won once or twice?

3. Sorry, I disagree
These clowns operate like a high school clique of popular girls. When the new girl comes to town, they trash her any way they can. They spread all sorts of the most insidious lies and innuendo, then sit back and watch Joe Six-pack eat it up.

They need to be exposed at every turn for what they are. Insecure, sniveling weasels who want to lie their way to power. Ignoring them doesn't work. Whether you like it or not people actually believe this kind of crap if it is repeated enough, and your "liberal media" ensures that it is.

7. Ask SENATOR McCain how he feels about

being complacent when KKKarl Rove unleashes the attack ads and
dirty tricks.

I can double damn guarantee you that if he HAD responded forcefully
and attacked sniveling Bush, it would be President McCain today...
(I think McCain would have beat Gore legit).

Not that I love this guy... he is still a rethuglican.

But I bet he has always regretted taking the "high road" approach
with the BFEE crowd in South Carolina.

... and I have yet to see this ad.

I've only seen it online, through links provided by DUers, and on the latest "Scarborough Report," predictably.

In my opinion, ads like this serve as generous helpings of Kool-Aid to the already-Kool-Aid-afflicted. Fires up the base. Preaches to the choir. Doesn't move anyone who's decided on Kerry off Kerry, ya know?

At any rate, this is garbage, and should be treated as such. Kerry shouldn't even begin to bring up his record without bringing up Bush's first, in my opinion...

Just wait until more info comes out about these guys...they have stepped into the ring and in due time they will be knocked out...

9. I live in Ohio, too....Near Y'town
We'll see it...Over and over.

It's gonna premier on Hannity & Lame Ass, tomorrow.

I don't see, however, how this is supposed to drive voters away from JK and into the camp of their "real" hero.

I would think Buxh would want to leave this issue alone.
Maybe they want to hear more about the TANG years.

20. Is the part about just one brother supporting Kerry true?
And did the rest of the band of brothers really threaten to sue if he used their pictures in support of him? I have not seen this before.

22. The band of brothers are...
the people who actually served on the swiftboat WITH Kerry. Only one of them is against Kerry. All those other men in the photo barely knew Kerry. They did NOT serve on the same boat with Kerry.

14. How did Scarborough,
the despicable, sanctimonious beady eyed cracker respond to this filth? He's always going off on self righteous hissy fits about the Dim Son's 'character' being attacked.

Did he defend John Kerry's honor from the Nixon pawn John O'neill? Just checking...

18. Scratchborough has no credibility he's a murderer
Of course he is on Bush's side he made a big issue about Kerry only being in Viet Nam for 4 months.

A killer has no credibility so why does it matter what Joe the killer thinks?

15. It Can Easily Be Backfiring...
For those who need to "legitimize" their lies, O'Neill is their boy. Truth mean nothing to these goons and I'm surprised they haven't brought some loser out who said he "heard Kerry was involved in attrocities" (or am I jumping the gun on this one??).

This is a vain attempt to divert attention off of Kerry's military service and give cover to Bunnypants and Crashcart...the best defense being "on the offensive" (listen how often a Bushbot uses that word these days)...it keeps one from having to answer real questions.

It's clear Bunnypants will avoid any major campaing based on either his "record" or ideas. This will be strictly a campaign based on fear and lies...and I sense a lot of people wise to this and that's why this regime is getting desperate.

They've taken quite a beating in the last couple months...between all the embarassing scandals from Joe Wilson to Abu Grahb to this latest terror scam, they need some dirt to stick on Kerry and stick good. They're throwing all they can right now...and with 70 million more to throw around before now and the RNC whorefest next month, we're in for quite a wild time.

8. They're not new
The more we react, the more the mainstream media will decide this is a story and run with it. Besides, it's only 12 guys who didn't even serve under Kerry. People will believe the guys who DID serve under him and the guy he pulled out of the water. The ones who believe these swiftboat vets were never going to vote for Kerry anyway.

16. I agree...No impact
It'll just give Hannity something to be "shocked" about.

It's my understanding these guys were never on the same boat with JK.

I saw some of the commercial, however, and one of them was a vet who claims he lied for his silver star.....I'm sure this guy will be outed for what he is, though.

Another was supposedly the medic that treated him for one of his wounds...He's claiming it wasn't worthy of a purple heart. I assume it wasn't up to him to make that call, nor is it his authority today.

Maybe these asses want to review every medal earned by current Iraq war veterans, to see if they "deserved" their awards.

24. This should not even be...
... a debate any more. Attacks allowed to stand are considered true by the electorate. Sure, there isn't infinite cash to respond with equal numbers of ads in every case, but every charge MUST be answered.

I'm betting that Mr. Kerry is well aware of this :)

25. VETERANS GO HERE TO URGE ACTION FROM THE KERRY CAMPAIGN
Vets go here and make your concern known to the Kerry campaign:
http://www.johnkerry.com/contact/contact.php

There's already a structure in place apparently, but they haven't done much that I know of.

With Coordinators in All 50 States, Kerry Kicks Off Veterans Mission to Organize 1 Million Vets Across the Country

Asks Supporters to Help Military Families by Giving to the Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund

For Immediate Release

Minneapolis, MN - Democratic Presidential candidate John Kerry Friday rallied fellow veterans in Minneapolis to kick off a nationwide effort to organize 1 million veterans behind his campaign for the White House. With state Veterans for Kerry coordinators now in place in all 50 states, today’s rally marked the beginning of a grassroots push by veterans across the country to elect John Kerry President.

To give something back, Kerry also announced at the rally that he is asking all his supporters to demonstrate their support for military families by contributing to the Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund – a fund that supports military families who have lost their loved ones in battles since the attacks on US soil. Supporters can show their support by donating through the Intrepid link on Johnkerry.com.

“Today I’m proud to announce Veterans for Kerry,” Kerry said. “This is a group of men and women in all fifty states who will be on the front lines, helping organize veterans, bringing our message to voters across America.”

In their states, state Veterans for Kerry groups will organize and execute grassroots, veteran-to-veteran outreach efforts, including: vet-to-vet phone banks, veterans visibility efforts, veterans motorcycle rides, including one to the Convention in Boston, and Veterans Internet operations. Through their efforts, the Kerry campaign is setting the goal of organizing 1 million veterans behind John Kerry’s campaign.

“As President, I will always remember that America’s security begins and ends with the soldier, sailor, airman, and Marine – with every man and every woman in our armed services standing a post somewhere in the world,” Kerry said. “We salute each and every one of them for their commitment, strength, and extraordinary courage – especially those serving in Iraq and Afghanistan. They, like all veterans of wars past, deserve our prayers and then, when they come home, they deserve the respect and support of a grateful nation.”

Kerry’s distinguished group of state coordinators is made up of veterans who served in peacetime and combat, from World War II to Iraq. Between them, they have received 17 Purple Hearts, 13 Bronze Stars, 7 Silver Stars and a Congressional Medal of Honor. From all branches of military service, the state coordinators have worked tirelessly over the past months to set up grassroots organizations in their respective states to mobilize veterans for Kerry.

Before the rally, Kerry held a conference call with all his coordinators to thank them for leading the charge and for their service to his campaign.

In addition to placing an Intrepid link on Johnkerry.com, Kerry will send an email to his 1 million plus online supporters asking them to give back and honor the men and women in our armed forces by donating to the Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund. The fund helps military families who have lost a loved one make home payments, child education payments or meet similar financial needs during difficult times.

As President, Kerry will keep America’s promise to our veterans. His plan includes mandatory funding for VA healthcare to properly care for over 500,000 veterans who are currently excluded from the system and revoking the Disabled Veterans Tax, which deducts disability pay from military retirement pay.

Kerry is in the closing days of 11-day focus on national security, where he is talking about his plan to build a stronger, more secure America with a national security policy designed to meet today’s challenges, including modernizing the military to face new threats. Kerry continued to echo these themes at his rally today.

“The first definition of patriotism is to keep faith with those who have worn the uniform of the United States,” Kerry said. “And the first duty of a commander in chief is to make America strong and keep Americans safe. It’s time do what it takes to build an America that is respected in the world once more.”

Yesterday, Kerry announced a Senior Military Advisory Group of 10 prominent retired admirals and general officers who are advising his campaign on defense and national security issues.

Today’s rally was held to commemorate the establishment of Veterans for Kerry operations – with state coordinators – in all 50 states. It was attended by former Senator Max Cleland, the Bolanos brothers - the only four brothers to serve in Vietnam - and former Vietnam crewmates of Kerry. It marked the culmination of a week of local events across the country, as Veterans for Kerry organizations held state level announcement rallies in states like Michigan, Arizona, Arkansas, New Hampshire, Maine, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Louisiana, Florida, Ohio and Colorado.
