I just signed this petition to stop Tom DeLay.

Got this e-mail this a.m. I don't know if these things are effective, but for whatever it's worth:

He is at the center of a machine that launders corporate influence in our political process. And that machine reaches even into the House Ethics Committee that is supposed to be investigating its activity. Four of the five Republicans on the Committee have received money from the DeLay operation.

We must demand that the Ethics Committee appoint an outside counsel to lead the probe in DeLay's wrongdoing. Let's send a message to the committee and DeLay's constituents in Texas that the man called the "chief enforcer of company contributions to Republicans" will not be getting the same consideration for his money that his contributors get from theirs.

1. It is a great campaign and I hope it does some good

It is unbelievable that Delay thinks it is okay to pay money to the people who are to make a determination if Delay uses money illegally.

Delay is so brazen about his deceit.

DeLay's redistricting effort in TX, I can hardly see straight and I don't even live in TX. The only thing I'm more po'd about is the crap that is going on in FL.

I don't know what these petitions accomplish, either, but I figure couldn't hurt might help. At least officials know that people are paying attention. I always add my own comments, too.
