The Bush Loyalty Oath form-Hot! off the presses

It reads:

"I, (full name) ... do herby (sic) endorse George W. Bush for reelection of the United States." It later adds that, "In signing the above endorsement you are consenting to use and release of your name by Bush-Cheney as an endorser of President Bush."

1. This is too funny.
Is this a binding document? I would sign one if I had to - I suppose but honestly what is this achieving? Hail to the Chimp.

6. Only guessing -they would expect you NOT to "act up" if you signed one
Edited on Thu Aug-05-04 09:10 AM by underpants
and if you did they would wave this in front of a camera and scream "You PROMISED!!!" and imply that anyone who would do such a thing (read: Dem) is immoral and untrustworthy. Seriously I have no idea what this is supposed to accomplish.

18. Ever read Catch 22 ?
It reminds me of the loyalty oaths people were being forced to sign for food in the mess hall, spare parts, issued equipment... funny

The other thing though is a matter of principle - I always felt agreements made under duress were NOT binding. and how many promises does the Chimps team make and break,. Its just a piece of paper no more enforcable than an Indian treaty.

10. As managed and staged every that they do is you would think...
Edited on Thu Aug-05-04 09:05 AM by underpants
someone would have proof read it.

Remember the crowd behind one of his speeches being told to take off their ties so they didn't look so uppercrust/elite?

Remember the "Made in the USA" boxes that actually were made in China?

And the pundits said the Dem Convention was staged, this whole operation is staged.

Les Etat Ce Moi - I am the state. ( forgive my attrocious French quote ).

23. I think its more Stalin-esque than Hitler-esque.
This bastards are trying the whole "big brother loves you" bit more so than inspiration for the "fatherland" They are more sneaky and subtle than Hitler could ever have been. I think thats one of the reasons that Stalin was in power for decades after WW2.

As much as the right likes to point us out as pinko-commies, I argue, the truth is they are more like pinko-commies than anybody on the left

13. It's simple-they want you to show your support for reelecting the US
is there any ambiguity there?

A sixth grader could have caught that.

20. It means that the Chimp/Crashcart '04 ticket has given up all pretense and
is directly channeling Stalin. Maybe they have Nancy's astrologer helping out. :wtf:

All kidding aside, this is very scary, IMO. You have to sign party papers... its fascism/totalitarianism of the 1930's coming back for a new century of terror.

21. Herby:
herby:

\Herb"y\, a. Having the nature of, pertaining to, or covered with, herbs or herbage. ``Herby valleys.'' --Chapman.

http://dictionary.reference.com/search?q=herby

Or are they talking about this Herby:

http://homepages.tesco.net/~david.thebar/herbyshome.html

Who is Herby? More accurately, who was Herby? The Herby to whom these pages are dedicated, is Herbert George Town, a lad who lived his short life within a 17 year span of the Victorian era. He was born into a small railway community at Marshmoor, near Hatfield, Hertfordshire on 18th February 1871. He suffered a violent death near Manchester on Thursday 24th May 1888.

15. "...endorse George W. Bush for reelection of the United States"
Who came up with that? A 3rd grader? Bush himself?

and then

"...you are consenting to use and release of your name by Bush-Cheney..."

I am not surprised that so many people supporting Bush are functionally illiterate. The dumbing down of America continues...

33. Thanks. I made an e-mail. Feel free to copy and paste.
(Note: You'll have to right click on the form and click on "copy" to paste it in an e-mail using Outlook Express.)

Want to attend a Bush*-Cheney campaign speech/rally?
It's easy as pie. To get a "ticket" (REQUIRED to attend), all you have to do is fill out and sign this loyalty oath.
It states: "I (full name), as (Elected position and/or organization title) of (City and or County and/or District) of (State)
do herby endorse George W. Bush for reelection of the United States."

_______________ ________________
(signed)..................(date)

The above is a verbatim representation. Yep, "herby" and "reelection of the United States".
And sometimes it's "and/or" and sometimes "and or", dealer's choice, I guess.

Page 2 is a "release" which reads "In signing the above endorsement you are consenting to the use and release of your name by Bush-Cheney as an endorser of President Bush."

Anybody have a copy of the form you have to sign to get into a Kerry-Edwards rally?
Naw, I didn't think so.
Do Kerry-Edwards have "free speech" zones for protesters located several blocks (miles?) away from their appearance locations?
Naw, I didn't think so.
Are the Bush-Cheney folks running scared?
Yeah, I think so.

36. BTW At these invite only Kerry things...
They do NOT require anything like this...

I think they are requiring tickets strictly for a numbers count and to save people the grief of showing up and not being able to get in at a fenced in event (the security at the rally I went to was quite tight to put it mildly...you couldn't even carry a purse)

All I had to do was sign a ledger with my name and a quantity for how many guests I wanted tickets for.
