I've now watched Maher's show a few times. Repubs ARE feeling desperate.
The Republicans follow a pattern that is very predictable to those who have observed them for some time now. When they are feeling that they are losing on an issue, they put out their 'prettiest' spokespeople. The shrewd 'charmers' who are supposed to be able to sell ice to the eskimos. David Dreier and his band of weasels.

The always genial, dependably unflappable David Dreier lost his cool. He could not answer. No amount of charm or number of smiles could bring forth a suitable answer for some very basic questions regarding Bush and 9-11. The most telling was when Maher asked, "If you were president, what would you do when your aide tells you the country is under attack?"

Deperation by Republicans is an UGLY thing. They are capable of any act upon the citizenry because they do not care about any of our wellbeings, only maintaining power...and they will be desperate to do just that.

Dreier's performance signals that Republican desperation is upon us.

1. He didn't answer? Did the camera focus on him for 7 minutes?

2. I saw that one.
The assholes actually expect us to believe that B*sh was trying to project calm and cool-headedness. LOOK AT THE FUCKING FILM!!! HE LOOKS FUCKING TERRIFIED!

They'll never, ever admit that the Chimp was too scared to get up and actually DO something. The puppeteer dropped the strings on that one, but good.

6. When will you people understand
that incontinence can be debilitating.

Why do you suppose Bush appeared in different clothes a few minutes after the children left the room?
Why do you suppose that NOBODY has footage of Bush actually standing up or leaving that room?

You all know how big a fuss y'all made when Poppy barfed.
Leave Junior alone already, willya.

16. Projecting calm.
The thing that makes projecting calm during a stressful situation impressive is that you are projecting calm while actually doing something to deal with the situation. Anyone can sit on his ass holding a book while projecting calm. I don't know why the freepers are so impressed with Bush's "calm". He wasn't doing anything.

5. Don't need the president!
I loved that part where he was trying to explain why the president didn't leave the school right away and he said there were other people running things or something like that and Moore said, so you mean we don't need the president?

I watched it for the second time last night too. I love it more each time!

7. Their totally lost unless is a "stacked deck" type of show.....
As are all the usual Whore TV shows. Line up 3 Repukes with a lone Dem and just keep shouting over him until the commercial break.

If you get guys like Drier,JC Watts or others on a one to one basis with the host actually asking TOUGH questions they freeze like the proverbially deer in the headlights.

9. Not really the most important point Maher made
It may get Bill's gonads going to talk
about the lost 27 minutes on 9/11, but addressing
the different Senate funding bills re: $87 billion with
further facts would have shut Dreier up more quickly...
It would be nice if facts actually were used by
the punditry out there. Maybe if their contract was
based on getting paid by the fact....

Dreier did change the subject pretty quickly
when Maher starting talking about gays....

Did you read that Arnold is now taking his show
on the road...Las Vegas yesterday...to drum up
business to come to California...if there isn't
a joke in there somewhere, someone isn't working
hard enough.

12. That's exactly my point. They always put up Dreier because he's usually so
calm and consistently smiling and smarmy to the point that it flusters those pitted against him.

This time it was HE who became flustered. Sign of the times.

17. David Brooks had the same look
after the wonderful speeches at the Dem convention. He is one of the "nice", "moderate", and "calm" attack puppies.

11. Bill Maher to Larry King:
"I have a hard time getting conservatives on my show. They are afraid of me, because I hold their feet to the fire."

Dreier (especially) and Owens were BURNED AT THE STAKE last week.

15. Dreier's red face is another signal of their desperation, methinks!
Jeeeeeesus, he looked like an overripe tomato after only about two minutes into the show, and with every passing minute, he kept getting riper ... and riper ... and riper ...

And did anyone else notice that after Bill's "New Rules" - when everyone stands up and kind of mills around talking while the credits are rolling - Dreier was already GONE, GONE, GONE ... :D

What a crybaby. :eyes:
