CNN's second response to me: Go Cheney myself
You all remember my first letter to CNN, and my first response from CNN. I posted it yesterday. I sent that longer email with the ten questions I had for them. Their response was alot ruder:

Robert Novak hasn't been convicted of any crime. By prominent Democrats I mean the leaders of the Democratic party and Michael Moore and any other prominent Democrats who care to speak out. CNN is committed to showcasing a wide variety of voices. I disagree with most of the rest of your points but don't have time at this early hour to respond to each and every one of them. Feel to watch any TV network you choose.

I say we hold them to their claims of "prominent Democrats" and everything else this yutz said.

I seem to have struck a nerve with CNN. They don't like me apparently. Nice. I'm proud. Cheney them. I really don't care. I get more news from Jon Stewart than CNN.

9. the dude's email address is
Eason.Jordan@turner.com

If that doesn't work, try this one:

eason.jordan@cnn.com

I am amazed I got responses as well, since after I called them, the guy who answered my phone call couldn't hand up fast enough.

13. Wow..pretty high up...Executive vice president & Chief News Executive-CNN
Might write him a polite letter asking if they've booked Terry to IMMEDIATELY follow Bush's speech.

15. Whoa! He actually responded personally ?!?!?
The testiness of his response tells me that he must be getting lots of these. He's obviously feeling VERY defensive about this.

But then again, perhaps CNN (I LOVE that "Certainly Not News") is starting to feel the heat from the Columbia Journalism Review...

...and other critiques that have begun to come CNN's way. GOOD. They deserve it. If it was JUST a handful of us grousing about it, that'd be one thing. But when TOO MANY OTHER PEOPLE start noticing and complaining also, well, that oughta tell you - AND CNN - something. EXCELLENT JOB! Keep that thorn in his side!

16. Eason Jordan took a lot of heat from r-wingers earlier this year
He wrote an editorial in NYT about how CNN covered up some reporting of the former regime's atrocities in order to protect sources and Iraqi journalists. The wingers jumped all over him and CNN in response. Maybe this explains CNN's weird turn to the right in the last year.

5. My question: Is Terry booked to IMMEDIATELY follow Bush's speech on CNN?
Will they have him on for the SAME amount of time they had ED from the RNC on?

THAT is CNN's TRUE test.

NOt if they have Terry McCauliffe on 30 minutes after Bush's speech or an HOUR after Bush's speech but RIGHT AFTERWORDS for JUST AS LONG.

I'd like to email that question to CNN and see their (non) response.

I think we should ALL be asking that question.

7. CNN isd a s responsive to criticism as the Nazi Media
As arrogant and unresponsive, too.

At least we aren't being arrested for daring to criticize Der Fuhrer and his parrots in the Nazi Media.

CNN is NOT a "news" organization. Not that at all...

On edit: I will concede that if Fox is disgraced by BOTH "Outfoxed " AND bad ratings then we may have a change to drive a wedge between CNN and Fox. But CNN would also have to be scandalized to the extent that its 'true believers' no longer have control over decision-making.

20. I hate to say this, but you should not have posted this
This may sound strange, because I believe strongly in calling the media to account.

However, it is self-defeating to post the contents of e-mail exchanges, especially when they are personal correspondences with actual people.

The problem with it is that if youi put yourself in their shoes, you would see that it actually discourages real interaction.

If I were a newsperson, I would be much less likely to reply to an e-mail if I thought it was going to be plastered all over the Internet. Especially in a critical way.

Just my opinion.
