What I'm wondering is why the librul media aren't demanding that Bush respond to Harris' stupidity. They're really good at asking Kerry to stick up for or denounce Whoopi Goldberg or Sandy Berger or some loony in a rainbow wig raving on a street corner. But when Bush's Florida statewide campaign manager from the 2000 election says something totally off the wall, nobody thinks to ask Bush about it. Suddenly, they all remember that a candidate isn't responsible for every utterance his supporters might make.

19. Here is the scoop on Katherine Harris....

Katherine Harris is from one of the wealthiest families in Florida. Her grandfather was a well-respected DEMOCRATIC state who got up every day at 4:30 and carried his lunch to the office. Katherine is really not stupid she just shows poor judgement and is one of these people that doesn't know when to shut up. She has a master's degree. Anyway, she is from Sarasota which is a very affluent city. Lawton Chiles appointed her to the Ringling Museum Board and she went to see a state senator in her area for money and supposedly he said, "The only Reuben I care about is a Reuben sandwich." (see "Too Close to Call" which is the gold standard about the 2000 election fiasco.

Katherine wanted to run for the senate this year but (and I don't have any proof of this) but it is kind of an open secret. The President asked Mel Martinez to run and Katherine dropped out of the race. I think she will run against Bill Nelson.
