Anthrax threat letters mailed to Kerry -- breaking
I'm posting this here on GD because I don't have a link yet.

NBC4 in Washington, DC is reporting tonight that a suspicious letter addressed to John Kerry has been intercepted at the Brentwood Post Office, where previous anthrax letters addressed to top Dems were found in 2001. The letter found today has been removed by the FBI and is being analyzed.

It was also confirmed that the Kerry campaign had received two other letters within the past few days as an anthrax threat, but the powder they contained was harmless.

24. CNN is all over this story today..good job
Oh silly me. CNN is covering the FBI searches today at houses of interest involving the 2001 anthrax attack.

Interesting that the searches, although no info was provided about the reasons, occurred today.

snip

Authorities are still trying to trace where the anthrax used in the letters originated.

Officials hope if they can pinpoint the origin of the anthrax that will help them find the perpetrator.

more..
http://www.cnn.com/2004/US/08/05/anthrax.searches/

WTF does that mean. If by origin they mean the guy who put the Anthrax in the letters then that is one redundant statement.

If by origin they mean where the Anthrax was made they are once again lying to us. It was made in the USA and the FBI can tell exactly where it came from.

19. Asscroft couldn't find his butt with both hands.
I just don't understand why more isn't made of who the administration hasn't found. Hell, they can't even find out who leaked Plame's name and that person is in the same buidling. What a joke the Justice Dept. is now. Their credibility will take years to restore.

17. Not odd at all...........
these lunatics will do anything to stay in power and keep Americans in a constant state of fear. This has gone too far, I fear for the future of this country.

To quote the Buffalo Springfield, "There's battle lines being drawn".. it may come down to armed confrontation in the near future. These maniacs must be stopped.

11. It's not Anthrax.
Edited on Thu Aug-05-04 05:47 PM by HuckleB
It's just some old powder of a supposedly unknown type that George found in an old shoebox. Karl convinced him that he should "share it with his worst enemy, as a sign to God that he loves the Jesus," so he sent some to Kerry.

12. Wouldn't someone have to be extremely dumb
or simply not care to mail anything potentially dangerous these days? No senator probably goes 500 yards near his mail until it is sniffed by dogs, machines and tested by guinea pigs.

With all the technology available; no method for catching the devious bastards that use the mail service as their personal terror choice.

Wonder why that is?

16. Well I think that this is why they never caught the one who sent it
before. They have been saving him for this new threat to the Democrats...I think they should get a little more creative.
