that instead of the bounce fading away (as it often does), it will maintain for a bit longer. I'm predicting that Kerry maintains a 3 or 4-point lead over Bush for another week or two due to this. And if Bush's bounce is not as significant (as is often the case for the incumbent), Kerry will cruise into the debate portion of the race either tied or slightly ahead.

I'm also willing to bet that if Bush's convention speech is anything like his last State of the Union address, he's in crappier shape than I'd imagined. Remember the non-existant bounce he got then.

Assuming that the race is in this situation in middle September, we'll have the DVD of F9/11 and the unfortunate 1000th GI death becoming factors in the race. Let's just hope that Kerry plays the debates well.. and that Rove's dirty tricks don't endanger too many peoples' lives..
