1. Isn't it great?
The only one left supporting this ad are Hannity and Limpbaugh. I wonder if Hannity will backtrack tonight. I'm watching Scarborough. Him and I think Ron Reagan Jr. are supposed to discuss the ad.

31. Hannity didn't backtrack and further said to the
vet that Kerry saved, that they should investigate Kerry's Viet Nam military record thoroughly, which pissed me off, so I wrote him and said since Fox is fair and balanced then you must also think we should investigate Bush's military record and bring on all his service buddies to back him up.

36. lets not forget
or let anyone forget that Shrub called Limpball a "national treasure."
So his "national treasure" approves of trashing a war hero for political gain. Priceless.

2. I hope they keep running it! Best ad ever for Kerry!
And while we're at it, trace the source of the ad. All roads will point right to the RNC and Bush.

10. More interesting information
Less than one month after receiving $100,000 from Houston homebuilder Bob Perry, Gov. Rick Perry (no relation to Bob - ed) named a top executive from Perry Homes to a commission implementing a new law designed to reduce lawsuits against builders.

John Krugh was appointed Sept. 8 to the Residential Construction Commission, a nine-member body charged with developing building performance standards and setting up a dispute resolution process. A homeowner would have to go through the review process before bringing a lawsuit against a builder.

Bob Perry, chief executive officer of Perry Homes, is the longtime top donor to Rick Perry. Since June 1997, when Rick Perry was agriculture commissioner planning a race for lieutenant governor, Bob Perry has contributed $580,000.

His most recent donations came on Aug. 14, when he wrote two $50,000 checks to Texans for Rick Perry, according to a campaign finance report filed with the Texas Ethics Commission.

<...>

This year, Perry Homes was a driving force behind House Bill 730. Krugh, senior vice president and corporate counsel for Perry Homes, led a task force that crafted the legislation for the Texas Association of Builders.

Kathy Walt, a spokeswoman for the governor, said Krugh was appointed because of his experience in the building industry.

And for all I know he is well qualified and he will do a good job without unduly benefitting himself or his business. These coincidences do pile up, though.

Houston homeowner John Cobarruvias, who applied for the commission, said he had hoped that Perry would appoint a consumer advocate like himself. Cobarruvias, president of the Texas chapter of Homeowners Against Deficient Dwellings, said he's disappointed but not surprised at the appointments.

"We expected them to stack this commission somehow, some way," said Cobarruvias. "I look at the makeup and just don't see us having a chance of doing anything in support of the consumers."

Krugh said he asked to be appointed to the commission. He said the law's benefits are the same for consumers as they are for builders.

"It's an opportunity for disputes to be resolved in a more amicable fashion and without people having to go to court. At the same time, we're not taking away the rights of consumers to have legal action against builders," said Krugh.

Yeah, sure, like Prop 12 will benefit consumers. It's not like business and consumers ever have competing interests, so it doesn't matter if the consumers' interests are represented by business people, right? Nothing to see here, folks.

11. Perry took care of that.
He had a law passed in TX that states if you buy a defective home, you can's sue the builder!! What a guy!

3. Seriously, This Is They Type Of Thing
that could doom a campaign these days...It's sad that it's not the issues, but I'll take it!

I have a very strong feeling these ads were Bush's personal idea...It's been rumoured he's been VERY active in his own campaign. These ads have his personality written ALL over them! Vicious, vindictive, reactionary and STUPID!!!

15. Heard it said that the repubs are rethinking their convention
because of the upbeat, positive lovefest of ours. They had planned wall to wall Kerry/Dem bashing but now are afraid that would backfire after our convention. I'm sure they don't want this BEFORE the convention because it sends the wrong message and people might not tune them in. You see we played it smart. We talked about one big American "love in" and then John went on the campaign trail and is bashing the hell out of Bush. The morons who support Bush just did their usual premature ejaculation (should have saved it for post convention).

16. tread lightly media...
Kerry could always bring up Powells name.who also got a purple heart.

Vietnam

He was awarded a Purple Heart for valour after he pulled fellow men from a helicopter wreckage. But, as official custodian of the US war journals, he also courted controversy when his accounts failed to mention the American massacre of civilians at My Lai.

Republicans want to play dirty.........bring out bushs fellow drunks.........let them stand by him and give him a medal for drinking the fastest.

28. There's nothing new about this ad.
This group has been around for decades trying to smear Kerry. We've all had lots of time (decades) to review their accusations and their own credentials, and the story has been proven to be absolute hogwash.

They didn't serve with Kerry.

They didn't witness the events they claim to have witnessed, because they weren't anywhere near Kerry when they say they were.

The doctor who says he treated Kerry's wounds was not his doctor, and was nowhere near Kerry when the wounds occurred.

The story is a total fabrication, proven to be false.

Got it?

32. I agree!
Especially when you compare Kerry's record to Bush's. We all know that George helped protect our southern flank from sneak VC attacks during his service to our country....why aren't they pointing that out?

Sorry we won't be hearing much more of your wisdom before you're been deported back to the darkside.

37. That's exactly my point
KKKarl Rove and his cronies and ditto heads and whomever else throw this shit out there and, in a lot of places, it sticks. Then they retract it, but it's already done it's damage. You can clean up the shit, but it still elaves a stain.

Just like John McCain said, when KKKarl put out the whisper campaign against him (McCain) 4 years ago, even though it was officially discreditied, people still believed it.

Shameful.

Shrub can't win on his record, he can't win on his merits, not on his ethics or morals, not on his resources or his intelligence, so he has to lie and attack. Shame.
