Bush was in Viet Nam....
For all the talk about his missing time in the Texas Air National Guard, it has come to our attention that George W was in Viet Nam. He actually was a chopper pilot for a couple of months. He wanted to get a sample of what it would be like to be in "real" combat, in case he were to ever think of running for president someday.

Not only that, he was also on a swift boat for a few weeks. He was patroling the Mekong River, the same river that John Kerry allegedly got his medals. He actually came under fire more than a couple times. He was lucky he wasn't shot. He was no chicken hawk. George was not down in Texas or Mexico or Alabama as a lot of his detractors have tried to insinuate. He was in Viet Nam. He was in combat. So people should stop trying to tear down his service record.

12. I was sure that just before the election

we would allowed to at last learn the reason Dubya can't prove he was in Texas or Alabama at that time was because he was flying black ops missions into Laos and Cambodia for the company. The White House will probably release a copy of his "Get-out-of-jail-free" card soon.

... or is this an audition to write the column?

"Bush is not like Hitler! So stop saying that!" - That's my favorite saying. It could be modified to: "Bush was NOT AWOL! He was on a secret mission in Nam!"

25. Son of a gun, I just remember......
He was my co-pilot in my B-52 as we carried out missions over Vietnam and Cambodia. He was such a wunnnnnnnderful pilot, I let him handle the controls after we landed and rolled to a stop. He even made sounds as though the jet turbines were still turning over. I get goose bumps remembering it.

30. He flew a few SIGINT spy missions with me over the Ho Chi Mihn trail.
He was a crack linguist. He knew most of the dialects of the Vietnamese language and he could copy Morse code at 40 words-per-minute.

Yeah, that's the ticket.
