Sorry it's late..anyone see Hastert on Faux News yesterday?
I was taking my daughter camping when I saw it....didn't get back to it 'til today. I am working on an LTTE.

Anyway...the fill-in host for Cavuto is some guy with a British accent. He asked Hastert what was most important on his domestic agenda. Hastert replied "the energy bill...we passed one in the House, etc. etc....and when the conference committee bill got to the Senate, the trial lawyers blocked it."

The host said "Are they really that powerful (and can I blow you some more?)?" Hastert said "Oh, yes...we need senators who aren't trial lawyers.."

Now, am I mistaken, or with a majority in both houses, shouldn't he have been able to pass it except some Repub senators voted against it? I'm thinking either the speaker of the house doesn't know how Congress works or it was a completely transparent smear....Hmmm....

Please help if you saw this clip...
