I have seen the definition of irony, and it is Bill O'Reilly.
Irony is Bill O'Reilly condemning Bruce Springstein for being a wealthy, partisan elitist who claims to be a blue-collar sympathetic non-partisan.

5. I love how this Coalition of the Rocking is so hard to hate on!
You have just R.E.M. and you can say, 'Oh, it's just leftist musicians.'

Add the Dixie Chicks and it's, 'Well, they're already liberals!'

Add Bruce Springstein, John Mellencamp (with or without the Cougar), Bonnie Raitt (sic; I forget how to spell her name), Willie Nelson, Dave Matthews Band, and lots more, and all you can say is, 'Damn... and all the right has is the Nuge and Wayne Newton...'

3. We don't get his show in Canada. Is that a good thing or a bad thing?
Well, we DID get to watch him on Inside Edition. He didn't put his foot in his mouth so much with that gig.

10. Waiting to hear him go off on John Fogerty...(who's also signed up)
Corporate reichmaster Saul Van Zantz basically ruined this man's career, waiting to hear the O'Reilly spiel! (I have a feeling bad Bill at least tapped his toe to a few CCR songs if he was ever young)...

Baal O'Reilly basically sucks shit, feel free to quote me on this!

12. That's doubly awesome.
I'm only 20 and even I like Credence. :)

Heh, I got into them after watching The Big Lebowski. Another reason that movie kicks unbelievable ass.

8. The Funny Part..........

The funny part was O'Reilly saying in his talking points that he has no problem with Bruce having concerts to raise money for Kerry, and no problem with Bruce speaking his mind on politics.

Then he spent 10 minutes hammering Bruce for using concerts to raise money for Kerry, and for speaking his mind.

It was the fastest flip flop I have ever seen in my life. Flip to flop in 90 seconds, lol.

Funny how you never see him criticize any celebs or rock stars who raise money for Bush or Republicans. Or any of them who speak out in support of Bush or a Republican. He only seems to have a problem with a celeb or a rock star who speaks out against Bush or a Republican.

11. Bill O'Reilly's so-called "working class" background:
>
>
O'Reilly actually grew up in Westbury, Long Island, according to his mother Angela, who still lives in the Levitt-built house Bill grew up in. Westbury Long Island is a "middle-class suburb a few miles from Levittown," where he attended a private school (Washington Post, 12/13/00). His late father, William O'Reilly Sr., was a currency accountant with Caltex, an oil company; Angela "Ann" O'Reilly was a homemaker who also worked as a physical therapist.

While hardly well off, the O'Reillys - Mom, Dad, Bill Jr. and his younger sister, Janet - weren't exactly deprived, either. Both children attended private school, and the family sent Bill to Marist College, a private college in Poughkeepsie, N.Y., as well as the University of London for a year, without financial aid btw.

O'Reilly's father was a frugal man and a wise investor. His son acknowledges in his book that his father bequeathed "a very nice chunk of change" to his mother upon his death in 1986. As for Dad never earning more than $35,000, what O'Reilly doesn't mention is that Dad retired in 1978, when a $35,000 income was the equivalent of $92,000 in today's dollars.

That would put his dad in the top 10% of income earners in 1980. That is not working class !

Want Proof - look up what a $35,000 income in 1978 is worth in todays dollars -

13. If the Nuge (Ted Nugent)
did a benefit for the Republicans, would they object if he did "Poontango"? Or for that matter "Journey to the Center of the Mind" (that whole album was about a drug trip but he claims he didn't know it was despite all the hash pipes on the cover art)...

16. I Don't Think That's Irony
Doesn't irony require a certain element of non-intention? In O'Reilly's case, it is fully intentional.

That's not irony. It's fraud.
