I think the Bushbot slime ads have just played into Kerry's hand.

The Dems made a big deal out of staying clean in the convention and calling for a positive campaign. The clones of Lee Atwater just couldn't keep their filthy little minds and hands under control. They have released a bunch of stuff like the Swift Boat business that will end up pissing a lot of people off, especially vets, who will see through it immediately. The Kerry people will refute this stuff pretty handily. They had to know something like this was coming, after McCain 2000.

Now, though, all bets are off. The Kerry people know, REALLY know, where a lot of old skeletons are buried, and the Bush people have essentially declared open season on themselves. Kerry & Edwards will presumably remain above the fray, but they will set their bulldogs loose now. Dean, the Band of Brothers...lots of bulldogs. Lots of buried meat.

It will get interesting.
