4. It is very ODD that Bush* didn't realize what he was saying.
Something is wrong with him, besides being a plain dumbass.

Now that I've seen the clip, I think he definitely should've realized what he was saying.

Weird.

18. It looks more like badly thought (or qualified) text to me...
.... but maybe that's just because of the way I think. I do lots of work in computer security.

That means that I spend a lot of time trying to figure out how to wreck, damage, and destroy computers. I didn't get the humor the first time I saw it, I just thought that the pResident was being politically stupid (wouldn't be the first time).

In a similar vein, I would hope that Kerry will spend as much time, and effort, trying to figure out every weak point of our country, every way of hurting our people, and then come up with appropriate defenses and/or damage limiters.

23. Absolutely!
This was not a Freudian slip. That's when you use the wrong word...as when someone recently said Kennedy instead of Kerry. That's normal and so is transposing two words. What Bush did is different. It is absolute proof to me that he has no clue what he is talking about...all he does is read!!!!

17. Hi Kabalevski!
I've been here over 3 years already, and I rarely get replied to.. don't feel bad. I have 4,400+ posts and I'm a virtual unknown.

I haven't looked at that site yet. People on DU can be a bit leery of new posters that link them to sites that are pro-bush. Believe or not, some people actually come here with the intention of trying to convince DUers to support Bush, so they post these ridiculous sites. Having not seen the website, I"m shocked to hear that any musicians would actually support Bush, or any republican, for that matter. Republicans are notoriously anti-arts funding, anti-education, and the most narrow-minded people you'll find. Not exactly what most musicians and artists look for in leaders.

Keep posting.. I suggest that in your first weeks here, that you post carefully, taking time to read what you're about to post. Because DU has been whacked with a lot of freepers, they tend to be a bit unforgiving with newbies if they sound like they're pushing pro-bush stuff. :hi:

19. howdy again---..
yeah.. i figured that out a little bit too late.. i got called a TROLL? -- but.. really.. i don't understand what the difference is...with posting Anti-Kerry stuff or Pro Bush stuff.. because - i thought the point was to find the stuff on these sites and either prove or disprove.. i don't think either side should ignore the other completely... it should be about finding out the truth... THIS side OVER HERE.. is the side that should at least be a little more open to discussion and less about ONLY LISTEN TO OUR SIDE.. but.. i guess that's not how politicians Win...? talking to republicans is like slamming your head into a wall though.. they'd have probably already gotten me kicked off their site..lol.. i mean.. granted - i don't really like Kerry too much .and truth be told i guess i don't really Want to read about any of the dirt he's got.. because i sure am going to vote for him..
as far as posting the site that is Pro-bush--
i really wanted to get some Dems That were a little more edjucated than me to go to that site and at least Talk a little sence to THEM.. in their forum--- because there's alot of kids , alot of young musicians on there that look up to this guy - He runs a Metal show on a small radio station-- and i just know alot of kids will listen to him.. and i tried to argue a little bit.. but he just throws stuff at me .. and i can't really dispute.. because i don't know whats true and what's not these days... But.. either way...
i'm Sure not trying to get aNyone to vote for Bush -- No matter how insane or stupid i sound.. i'm not THAT bad... lol..

31. Glad you showed.
Don't get discouraged about people calling you a "troll" or whatever. I'm a conservative Dem from the South, originally, so I don't always agree with everyone on the board. But we're all voting for Kerry (and for damn good reason), and we all want to help him win. I'll try to check that website at some point, but I hope some others on this site with more info than me checks it out, as well.

10. It didn't sound like a "slip"
unless he mouths words without thinking about them in the LEAST.

I misspeak from time to time--we all do--but I've never seen anyone without any ability to hear what they JUST said, and not try to correct themselves.

24. do you mean letterman's or the chimp's
I just watched tape of Letterman

hearty, but not HUGE laughs, plus applause that lasted exactly
twelve seconds, petering out at the end

Dave loved it, stuck his finger in his ear, wiggled, as if he couldn't BELIEVE what he'd just heard. then he made a quizzical face, and SALUTED!

13. Freudian slip or more evidence of Bush's erratic behavior?
Whether he's tripping on the stairway of Air Force One, falling off his bike, or making incredible gaffes like the one he made today, it's clear that Bush's behavior is getting more and more erratic. Could prescription drugs, both to get him up for his speeches and to bring him down afterwards be confusing his mind? I cannot imagine even a stupid person making the kind of verbal blunder Bush made today. It's more than stupidity. It's more like brain short circuitry and I'm beginning to give a little more credence to those reports from Capital Hill Blue.

25. Simplest speculation- off the earplug
In certain audiences it is safe to stick to a paper script- well almost- as opposed to the consarned, dadblamed audio device that might be responsible for the general weirdness of Bush in public.

If he can't handle ANY of the means, paper(which I think is easy to stray from for a guy wanting to add cute emphases),teleprompter or earfeed they must be wondering what to do at the Convention where the noise factor would almost necessitate a teleprompter and lots of rehearsal.

I enjoyed Sharpton's off the script foray, but I think I might enjoy Junior's even more.

WASHINGTON - President Bush (news - web sites) offered up a new entry for his catalog of "Bushisms" on Thursday, declaring that his administration will "never stop thinking about new ways to harm our country and our people."
