Anybody Hear Maureen Dowd On "Fresh Air"?
Edited on Thu Aug-05-04 11:15 PM by redstateliberal
I have occasionally enjoyed her columns, but hearing her speak I realized how self important she is, how self involved. A real turn off. She said she found Bush to be a sweet, charming person because he said his favorite cultural activity was baseball. Now I'm a baseball fan but give me a break. The sound of her voice was unusually irritating. It was strange to say the least.

5. I taped some of that
how ANNOYINGLY self-involved

her inner ugliness shone through in her features; very pinched, close-browed

oil of vitriol about the lips

3. Ty Cobb's
favorite cultural activity was baseball also. Hardly anyone described him as a sweet charming person.

4. Maureen is an ally, so let herself be herself
She might have said some nice things about the Chimp, but she is actually pretty cool.

OK, she's a Leo... what do you expect. :hi:

8. Redstateliberal, I heard her too on Fresh Air tonight
and your assessment matches mine exactly.

Self-important, and frankly, not very astute--particularly when she was talking about Theresa Heinz Kerry. A lot of stuff she said was BS all the way.

The things she said about Bush's Adminstation losing all credibility was interesting--that the lost credibility has lent itself to people questioning whether the terror alerts are just self-serving (like the Administration's lies about Iraq were found out to be).

But I kept thinking her voice was going to aggravate me to death. Yuck.

9. Lowering the bar for Bush. Imagine if
a Democrat were asked his favorite cultural activity, and he said "baseball."

The media would ridicule him.

But if Bush says it, that makes him charming.

10. I yelled at the radio when she said that.
Kerry answer was far more interesting than Bush's ("baseball") but to her Bush's answer was charming, and Kerry's was insincere.

What a load of crap that was.

11. She also French kisses rattlesnakes and calls them her babies.
She's a chameleon. If Hitler's cadaver was president she'd have sex with it, like most of the media shills.

12. I like her
I like her cute little picture when the conservativly biased Oregonian chooses to run her columns....which isn't that often, they pick and choose her columns, usually the most incoherent or liberal bashing ones...The Big O includes her as a "liberal" columnist in order to "balance" the left vs. right, which is a joke here...

I find her columns borderline incomprehensible, I rarely read them...

14. Noooo....
but I'd like to, maybe then I could meet her, then seduce her, then (I don't know how to say this exactly without being offensive to some) maybe engage in sexual relations with her...then after it's over she can write about it and my public profile can be raised and I can capitalize on the publicity and newfound fame and therefore get some better movies for my show! It sounds like a win/win situation for me!

Of course

I'm kidding..... :)

15. Maureen Dowd likes Bush because, just like her, he has also
earned his fifteen minutes of infamy without any merit or more appropriately ,by pulling a con on the American people. While everything Bush touces turns to shit, Maureen's forte is to trivialize every event or a person. She is incapable of empathy with anyone, just like Bush. When she talks interminably about her shopping habits at the upper crust stores she frequents when the tortures at Abu Ghraib are staring at her in the face, I knew I was looking at the same self involved personality as Bush. No wonder she finds him sweet!
