I was watching Kerry's speech to a group of journalist on C-Span and he was discussing his plans to improve education and to give younger Americans and alternative to gang involvement. It suddenly hit me that over the past 3+ years there has hardly been any media coverage on the War on Drugs and/or the increase of gang violence and crime in general.

* has been able to make the American social ills non-issues. We don't hear "don't say No" anymore because no one is talking about the drug problem, the rise in prison population, the increase in crime, gang violence.

*&co. have made our society a non-issue. :cry: ::( :scared:

The American people and our concerns and needs are non-issues!

Kerry has his work cut out for him, that is for sure!

3. We are a tough and resilient people

I'm sure that when we have the blight taken out of the White House and Congress, things with Kerry's stewardship of the nation will turn around. It won't be easy, but I think we can do it.
