Global War on Terror – NOT
The interview with Tommy Franks recently had me reeling.
This guy is a FRIGGIN WACO....and if you don’t believe so after the recent interview.... check this http://www.globalresearch.ca/articles/EDW311A.html ....or many other such articles....

It got me thinking about the convoluted mantra of .....

“WE MUST FIGHT THEM OVER THERE....SO THAT WAY THEY DON’T FIGHT US OVER HERE”

Think about it.
This is what is really separating two schools of thought on how to fight against terrorism.

It's bullcrap. The functional relationship of Terrorism to anything which resembles the classic WWI or II world war scenario is complete bullcrap.

Bullcrap on top of bullcrap on top of bullcrap…..

Yes, by all means, go into Afghanistan and break up Al Qaeda. But beyond that...WORLD WAR...NO, NO, NO, a thousand times NO.
Not in ANY conventional warfighting context WHATSOEVER.

Our principle terrorist enemies are not going to “fight us in the streets” of America...ala the Israeli/Palestinian way....unless of course we continue to invade countries and create new Israels every time we do it....but that's an entirely different matter.

We’re talking about people that can assemble in small numbers, do a lot of damage, then scadaddle away.

It takes intelligence and PREVENTATIVE measures to first reduce the PROBABILITY of their success in the first place.

THEY ARE NOT AFFECTED BY FIGHTS OF NATION AGAINST NATION AND FIGHTING IN THE STREETS. They can sit back and watch that stuff on TV and laugh...which is probably what they're doing right now.

Understand the enemy. You can’t fight the enemy unless you understand the enemy.
Shore up the borders, go after intelligence, invest your money in preventative measures, make as many arrests as possible....

Inoculate the friggin population against small pox, do what you have to do to thwart what could be another dozen people plotting to kill thousands of people…..

But PLEASE....

STOP THE F’CKED UP NOTION THAT YOU CAN BEAT THEM WITH A FRIGGIN WORLD WAR.

THIS FRIGGIN MENTALITY AND SCREWBALLS LIKE TOMMY FRANKS ARE GOING TO BE THE DOWNFALL OF THIS COUNTRY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

“WE MUST FIGHT THEM OVER THERE....SO THAT WAY THEY DON’T FIGHT US OVER HERE”

BULLCRAP!!!!!!!!!

3. Your dam right.....
Get into people's minds....you'll find it is THE issue.....much beyond a talking point because it's a reflection of people's attitudes and fears about what can be done.

The average person is having difficulty sorting this out because of the BS thrown at them. They buy into the notion that we've been safe here for 3 years BECAUSE of the war in Iraq. Hell no....they simply got way more than they ever expected in 911 and can sit back and plan the next one against us to happen within years....WTF....they already kicked our ass for 1 Trillion with 911 and soon to be another 500B in the Iraq war. We're doing ourselves in without them doing ANYTHING for Christ's sake.

911 was a lesson pure and simple concerning what can be done WITH A SMALL NUMBER OF PEOPLE....not nation against nation....not nukes....and ironically .....not really WMD.

Time synced backpacks could be the next huge hit.
Like I said...what the F ever happened to the issue of smallpoxs?

You have to get out of the mode of trying to bring howitzers to bear and think smart, do things undercover, don't advertise on TV all the lovely ways that the terrorists can pick up on.....and

BEAT THEM AT THEIR OWN GAME.....

4. They attacked us over here because we attacked them over there
On 911 we reaped what the US government had sown. When you spread death, terror and militarism throughout the globe it will come back to haunt you. If we didn't have our troops in their Holy Land then Al Qaeda would never have made the US a target.

So why would we keep doing more of what brought on the attack to begin with?

5. Exactly right......
Yes of course we are playing exactly into the original problem.

I had a couple conversations over lunch about this. It's really remarkable how people have bought into this theory that we can "fight them in the streets".

This represents the ultimate terrorist quagmire....the ISRAELI/PALESTINIAN quagmire......and we have been literally sucked into our own version of it.

Why the F can't people get it?

6. Stop them over there, before they get here
Rather than militarily fight them all over the world. Is that what you're saying?

7. Here's their theory in a nutshell.....
You will get into the minds of many people who are in high anxiety over 911 and really DO believe that we will get attacked at any moment.

The administration is very keen to be playing into these people's fears.....and these people seem to be also more emotionally comfortable with the notion of us "taking the fight to them" than doing some more intelligent counter terrorist activities. They really don't see past much more than they have attacked us....SO.....we should therefore take the fight to them.

The point is....that doesn't work with this terrorism. It's 12 people who can do a lot of damage, anywhere, anytime.

So they basically buy into the notion that it is smart to do some KICKING ASS over there....and there are also many I've talked to that believe this at the very least has "Al Qaeda on the run"....

BTW...as an aside...there are quite a few brain dead people out there that think little past the simple notion of just KICKING ASS....

But back to the majority of republicans or soon to be supporters of Bush because of how he's "taking the fight to them".....In other words...whatever we're doing in this god aweful mess could be somehow justified in terms of our having the guts to take on a fight....keep them preoccupied in a fight perhaps.....but to do NOTHING (their view of the democrats) would soon lead to our demise.

Like I said, the irony in all of this is that we never LEARNED THE LESSON OF 911.....
Now isn't that a cryin shame...really...it's right in front of our faces that they attack icons of this or that and they do it inconspicuously with a dozen people. We failed in terms of basic security and we haven't gotten our act together in terms of measures that thwart this type of activity directly.

Bush, the drunk, and his merry band of neocons are still living in the imaginary world of cold war, religious expansionism, and the belief that evil can be wiped out around the world with smart weapons.
It's a dreadful F'in joke.
