OMFG! Freeper imploding today. This time at O'Really
This is too funny. It's like watching them eat their young. Some are now accusing Faux News of leaning more Democratic!!!! Someone on AAR needs to pick this up.

Here's some of my favorite snippets.

To: Conservative Coulter Fan
Lately FOX News has been under blistering attack for being biased towrd the right.
I have noticed that they have been making a point of airing more Democrat-friendly programming lately.

To: EggsAckley
O'Twitly made me so angry last night that I just turned it off
I started watching Fox in general, and OReilly specifically, immediately after 9/11. In the last year, year and a half, I can't stand to watch him. He is far from impartial, and his claim at being an independent stretches the truth at times.}(

To: Conservative Coulter Fan
I'm through with O'Reilly. After covering for Teresa and now Lurch, he's Linda Ronstadt as far as I'm concerned. It only takes a few less viewers to make Hannity & Colmes the top rated cable news show. Let's go for it.

To: Elvis van Foster
Hannity & Colmes the top rated cable news show. Let's go for it.
I'm about with you on this one. I've really been fed up with Fox lately. I'm about ready to only watch the History Channel and the Discovery channel and get my news only from the Internet. Fox has been showing a trend of being very pro Kerry lately. They are about to loose their base viewers.

ROTFLMAO!!

or the Discovery Channel recently. Both have plunged downhill and seem to be either 1) geared to sound bites and short attention spans or 2) glorifying war and tying their subject matter to topical events. Bleah.

23. Yes. The History Channel did a segment on Iraq
during Bushes run-up to the invasion and they supported Bushes claims Saddam had stockpiles of Weapons of Mass Destruction and he supported terrorists organizations.
I used to enjoy the channel, but after seeing this blatant lie being put forward as truth, I lost all respect for whatever objectivity I thought the History Channel may have had.

29. They don't call it "the War Channel" for nuthin'
I can barely stand it myself. All the programs appear to be about glorifying war, and our machines of war, and the "courageous" men who ordered bombings of civilian populations from 10,000 feet.

And don't get me started on that Arley Whatzisname and "Mail Call". Talk about a commercial for the glories of the military-industrial complex. :eyes:

since CNN has lurched so far to the right. When they start quoting them we'll know that the cycle is complete and CNN has been successful in getting thier target audience.

12. How do they get their brains to work that way?
Faux is pro-Kerry? I guess Faux didn't run with the story of Kerry killing fluffy little bunny rabbits in Vietnam. That just shows their pro-Kerry bias. <sarcasm off>

How do you loose your base? I think you can lose your base, but if you loose your base, does that mean you gave them all diarrhea?

15. Joe Conason.
Premium article. Here's the paragraph:

The hired help employed by the Swift Vets committee is thoroughly partisan, too. Aside from Spaeth and Thomas Rupprath, the private detective she recommended to provide research services, the group's IRS filing names several experienced Washington political operatives. The June 30 filing shows payments to Robert A. Hahn, a right-wing Internet activist and Web designer who also runs something called the Free Republic Network (apparently an affiliate of the extremist Free Republic Web site); and to Tom Wyld, a Navy veteran and former director of public relations for the NRA Institute for Legislative Action, the lobbying arm of the National Rifle Association.

Edited on Fri Aug-06-04 01:00 PM by dorktv
and they have them from these odd sites that no one has ever heard of. Bush's record being expugned is linked to some Geocites website, not to any real news organization.

Edit:
Reading further:What exactly is your problem...I'll speak my mind on O'Reilly and what he did last night...I'm not going to shut myself up for the sake of McCainiacs or those dreadful "moderates."

Why are moderates dreadful to these people? Do they think that everyone REALLY should be just like them...have they not realized this would be very boring?

26. FOX paradigm shift
There should be no surprise at FAUX making slight shifts in a progressive direction. As the odds of Kerry replacing * improve you'll see more and more of it. That's because FAUX's tilt is not based on ideology as much as it's based on much $impler i$$ue$.

If Kerry walks into 1600 Pennsylvania really pissed off, you might see Bobby Kennedy Jr getting the nod as FCC Commissioner, or someone equally interested in kicking Murdoch, et al, squarely in the balls.

Just a return of the "Fairness Doctrine" and restrictions on ownership of media outlets could cut the throats of CLear Channel and others.

We'll see what happens by October. If current trends continue, or strengthen, you'll see more and more "EXCLUSIVE REPORTS" on issues that have been batted around DU for years without any coverage on the major media.

And won't that be sweet?

31. Give them a look at this, again....
Well known host of the Fox News program The O'Reilly Factor, Bill O'Reilly, apologized to the nation during a speech and book signing in San Francisco on Nov 20, 2003, saying he no longer trusts president Bush.

The apology was prompted by statements O'Reilly made earlier this year that he would apologize to the nation and never trust Bush, or the Bush administration again, if weapons of mass destruction were not found in Iraq.

http://www.basetree.com/articles/oreillyapology.html

That ought to convince them. This really happened. He did it on ABC too.
